Optical Service Interface Modules

Key Features
• Multiple topology and protection
scheme options: ring (UPSR,
SNCP, BLSR, MS-SPRing), inter-
connected ring, linear 1+1, mesh
and hybrid all in a single shelf
• Any port can serve as a trunk or
tributary – with protection mode
provisioned on a per-port basis
• Modules are configurable via
software for either SONET/ANSI or
SDH/ETSI operation
• 1310 nm and 1550 nm optics
available, plus optional ITU CWDM
TransAccess™ 200 is optimized for consolidating T1/E1 and DS3/E3 connections onto SONET/SDH at trunk
and DWDM optics on OC-192/
rates up to OC-3/STM-1. TA 200 is cost effective and modular with a carrier grade NEBS Level 3 certified
STM-64 and OC-48/STM-16
design.

A Broad Range of Connectivity Options

Delivering comprehensive support for almost any optical application, the Traverse platform offers
seven optical modules: a 1-port (dual-slot) OC-192/STM-64 module, a 2-port or 1-port OC-48/STM-
16 module, a 8-port (dual-slot) OC-48 module, a 4-port OC-12/STM-4 module, as well a 16-port or
8-port OC-3/STM-1 module. The OC-192/STM-64 and OC-48/ STM-16 modules also support 42 ITU
wavelengths spaced at 100GHz with optional integrated CWDM and DWDM optics. With the exception
of the Traverse 600, 8-port OC-48 and OC-192/STM-64, all Optical SIMs are installable in any of the
Traverse shelves (T2000, T1600, or T600) – simplifying module sparing and ordering.
