Preface
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is one of the leading institutes of higher
education in Pakistan, which not only provides the youth of Pakistan with the opportunity to
excel in academia, but also encourages different forms of art, culture and talent. The very
existence of multiple student led societies at LUMS promotes diversity that renders the institute
unsurpassed in terms of both academics and extra-curricular activities. With that said, LUMS is
also the home for Pakistan’s biggest photography society i.e. LUMS Photography Society which
provides all aspiring photography entrepreneurs not only from LUMS but from all over Pakistan
with a chance to exploit their talent and refine it through workshops, competitions and photo-
walks. Perceiving the growing interest of young, enthusiastic individuals in photography, LUMS
Photography society will be hosting the 5th edition of LUMS Annual Photography Summit,
Social Responsibility Program and LUMS Annual Photography Exhibition in the academic year
2017-2018.
Attached are the extensive details for the marketing proposal for the academic year 2017-2018

Executive Summary
Throughout the year, LUMS Photography Society not only engages itself with on campus
activities, workshops and ‘Photo Walks’ for Human of LUMS, it also aims to dedicate itself to
three main projects for the entire academic year. They include the LUMS Annual Photography
Summit, Annual Exhibition and the Social Responsibility Program.
The LUMS Annual Photography Summit is a 3-day event, set to include 6 competitions, 2
Workshops & 2 Social events. LAPS’18 will give our sponsor brands extensive on-ground and
online exposure, via the expected 500+ delegates and over 3500 LUMS student body, who will
be present at the event. Furthermore, sponsor brands will receive extensive branding on the
LUMS Photography Society Facebook page, which has over 200,000 subscribers, as well as the
LUMS Photography Society website & LAPS web portals. Our major sponsorship packages are
Platinum (Rs. 1,500,000), Gold (Rs. 1,000,000) & Silver (Rs. 750,000). Further branding details
along with individual events can be found further in the proposal.
Even though our Social Responsibility Program might not be dedicated with an entire solo event,
it adds to the both the photography society and the society around it. Branding options are
available under the General Sponsorship Packages again which can enhance a brands public
image and relations.

Being regarded as one of the most prestigious societies of LUMS, the society provides all
aspiring photography entrepreneurs in the University with a chance to exploit their talent and
refine it through workshops and photo-walks.
The LUMS Photographic Society has been working for many years now in the LUMS
community, fostering a sense of shared passion and helping the growth of skills of the young
aspiring but amateur photographers that enter
LUMS. Since its inception, many years ago, each
and every one of its councils and general bodies
have worked their utmost in improving its status
inside LUMS and bringing it forth as an able
society among the many others. The LUMS
Photographic Society has not only provided
training, workshops and great practical
photography opportunities through at least 5 trips a
year to its own members but it has also benefited the LUMS community at large by providing
coverage facility to almost every single event that other societies and departments hold
frequently.
LUMS Photography Society also arranged three-day workshops with acclaimed photographers
like Dodi and Yasir Nisar who shared their techniques and photography skills with not only the
members of the LUMS Photographic Society but also with the general LUMS community.
Photo booths are also very frequently arranged by the society on numerous events held at LUMS.
The very successful Photography Exhibition served as yet another jewel in its crown when the
Vice Chancellor of LUMS himself bestowed it with the honor of his presence, not to mention the
media coverage at the event which brought the LUMS Photographic Society national
recognition. After years of advancing photographic skills and gaining immense experience and
dedicated service to the LUMS community, we now believe that it should branch out to share its
knowledge and interest for the art of photography with other students outside of LUMS.
LUMS Photography Society, through LUMS Annual Photography Summit (LAPS), Annual
Exhibition and Social Responsibility program provides a platform for your brand to network
with stakeholders across the land.
Through LAPS, it provides an opportunity for students from all over Pakistan, who wish to learn
and develop their photographic skills to gather together in an enriching environment and nurture
their photographic knowledge in a
more creative and competitive way.
This represents a unique opportunity

up to 600 delegates from across the
country, i.e. representatives from up
to 100 educational institutions. The
delegates will represent all socio-
economic classes, and will primarily
be aged between 17-23 years.
Another important factor to note, is the LUMS student body itself, which comprises over 3000
students, and is uniquely exposed to all conference related branding in the weeks leading up to it.

Adding to its major events in an academic year, LUMS Photography Society will be dedicating
an entire exhibition based event to Photographers who lack the platform to showcase their talent
and where competing might earn them enchanting rewards. A two-day event will revolve around
workshops and where showcasing in the pinnacle of objectives, an opportunity to showcasing

As the biggest photography society of Pakistan, the newly initiated Social Responsibility
Program by LUMS Photography Society will try to engage the less privileged society of Pakistan
and their stories with the general public. As already mentioned, with already over 200,000
subscribers with each post having
over 1,000,000 reach at times, it will

as well. Not only will we teach delegates how to improve their skills, but they will also be

Selfie Story
Teams, unable to reach Phase II of any competition, will report to the help desk on Day-2. They
will be acquainted with the LUMS campus and will be given a list of items to search for, around
the campus, and take pictures with. This competition will help them acquaint with one another as
a team and as a part of a larger competition.
Landscape/Panorama
Instagram – Boomerang
The participants will be required to use Boomerang feature of Instagram and follow the provided
themes e.g. Happy moments, Dance moves etc. The creativity will be given utmost importance in
terms of marking criteria.
Workshops/Seminars Details
These will be held to enhance the photography skills of
the participant; the techniques learned in these workshops
may or may not be directly required for upcoming LAPS
competitions, but will add to the photography skills of the
participants. Moreover, participants will get an
opportunity to meet famous photographers with
inspirational photography stories and learn various new
techniques from them.

As mentioned above, one of the competitions will require each team to do a creative photo shoot
of a product that they will be assigned at the time of Registration on Day 1 (products of our
sponsors will be used for this purpose). The teams will have to make a poster advertisement for
the product assigned, and will submit, both the poster and original pictures for authenticity. They
will be required to do a creative product advertisement through the use of photography.
