Aypate is an archaeological site

belonging to the Inca culture located in Peru. It is located in the District of Ayabaca,
province of Ayabaca, Piura Region.

Possibly Aypate was an administrative center and only Inca vestige found in the
Piura region. It is part of the Inca Trail.

The structures of the site were built with stones. It is dispersed in a radius of 2 km.
The set consists of a concentration of main buildings and peripheral areas.

The first is composed of a terrazza of 500 m long and 300 m wide. The buildings are
distributed around it. To the southeast is the enclosures associated with two squares
of special administrative use. To the east it would lodge a ceremonial center with
form of pyramidal trunk (Pyramid of the Moon).
In Piura, in the province of Ayabaca and in the center of a triangle formed by the
towns of Cujaca, Olleros and the ruins of Ayabaca la Vieja, a hill called Aypate is
located; and there, the ruins of a mythical stone city built during the Inca empire
after conquering all this region of present-day Peru.

This hill is located around an area full of rivers and streams, among the most
important the Olleros and Mangos rivers. Aypate is part of a mountainous system of
the Western Cordillera of the Andes and dominates a wide valley of 33 km. of
amplitude.

To get to the ruins of the Aypate hill it is necessary to make a tour of about 8 hours
with the help of a mule, which is the safest animal to cross mountains and to cross
the Mango River. When arriving at the hill at 2915 meters above sea level and
surrounded by a large vegetation, tourists can finally appreciate the mysticism and
architecture of this place.

Aypate es un sitio arqueológico

perteneciente a la cultura inca ubicado en Perú. Está situado en el Distrito de Ayabaca,

provincia de Ayabaca, Región Piura.

Posiblemente Aypate era un centro administrativo y único vestigio inca encontrado en la región
Piura. Forma parte del Camino Inca.

Las estructuras del sitio fueron construidas con piedras. Está distribuido de forma dispersa en
una radio de 2 km. El conjunto está constituido por una concentración de construcciones
principales y áreas periféricas.

El primero está compuesto por una terrazza de 500 m de largo y 300 m de ancho. Alrededor de
el se distribuyen los edificios. Al sudeste se encuentra los recintos asociados a dos plazas de
uso especial administrativo. Al este albergaría un centro ceremonial con forma de tronco
piramidal (Pirámide de la Luna).

En Piura, en la provincia de Ayabaca y en el centro de un triángulo formado por las localidades

de Cujaca, Olleros y las ruinas de Ayabaca la Vieja, está ubicado un cerro llamado Aypate; y allí,
las ruinas de una mítica ciudad de piedra construida durante el imperio incaico después de
conquistar toda esta región del actual Perú.
Este cerro está situado alrededor de un área llena de ríos y quebradas, entre los más
importantes los ríos Olleros y Mangos. Aypate forma parte de un sistema montañoso de la
Cordillera Occidental de los Andes y domina un ancho valle de 33 km. de amplitud.

Para llegar a las ruinas del cerro de Aypate es necesario realizar un recorrido de unas 8 horas
ayudado de una mula, el cual es el animal más seguro para cruzar montañas y para cruzar el río
Mango. Al llegar al cerro a unos 2915 metros sobre el nivel del mar y rodeado de una gran
vegetación, los turistas por fin pueden apreciar la mística y la arquitectura de este lugar.
