analyze elements and principles of art in the production one’s arts and crafts inspired by the arts of
Mindanao
identify characteristics of arts and crafts in specific areas in Mindanao (e.g., maritime vessel
[balanghay] from Butuan, vinta from Zamboanga; Maranao’s malong, brasswares, okir, panolong,
torogan, and sarimanok; Yakan’s fabric and face makeup and body ornamentation; T’boli’s tinalak
and accessories; Tawi-tawi’s Pangalay dance, etc.
Tuesday
reflect on and derive the mood, idea, or message emanating from selected artifacts and art
objects
appreciate the artifacts and art objects in terms of its utilization and their distinct use of art elements
and principles
Wednesday
incorporate the design, form, and spirit of artifacts and objects from Mindanao to one’s creation
Thursday
trace the external (foreign) and internal (indigenous) influences that are reflected in the design of
an artwork and in the making of a craft or artefact
Motivation:
(M) Guess the picture: The students will guess what’s in the picture. The pictures are about
Muslim tradition
(T) Shake your Body: the students will do shaking exercise and it will be lead by the teacher.
(W) 4 pics 1 word. The students will be given 4 images and they will identify what the picture
is all about. The word is Artifacts
(Th) Shake your Body: the students will do shaking exercise and it will be lead by the teacher.
Introduction:
(M) Analyze the picture: The teacher will post a picture of arts and crafts inspired by the arts
of Mindanao and the student will analyze the elements and principle of arts present in the
picture
Development:
(M) Group Activity: the students will be grouped and they will be given pictures and they will
identify the characteristics of arts and crafts of specific areas in Mindanao.
(T) Group Activity: in the same groups, they will choose one artifact and art object and they
will create a concept map. They will pick one representative to present their work.
(W) Creation Time: in the same groups, the students will create an artwork with the guide of
principle of arts. They will incorporate the design used in Muslim crafts and art work.
(TH) Presenting their artwork: The students will present their artworks and they will trace the
external and internal influences that are reflected on making their artwork
Integration/Valuing:
Appreciate the arts and crafts of Mindanao
Evaluation:
(M) Teacher made test: The student will answer an identification type of test made by the
teacher which includes the arts and crafts of the various area of Mindanao
(T) Presentation of works: Each group will choose a representative to explain their concept
map.
(W) Checking of Progress: The teacher will check their progress with the guide of progression
paper
(Th) Performance work: students will present their work made in front of the class and critic
the works of the groups.
(F) Weekly Test 3.1 Paper and pencil test: read the following questions about the Arts and
Crafts of Mindanao.
