To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this recommendation for a young man who I have had the
pleasure of working with for the past semester. Christopher Newsom has
been a student teacher in my Choral program here at Rincon/University H.S.
as well as, Alice Vail Middle School for the Fall Semester, 2018. I can’t say
enough good things about his abilities as a teacher and colleague.

Christopher came into my classroom with an open mind and the ability to
accept suggestion. He learned quickly and actually changed some of the
ways he dealt with students by adopting new strategies. Almost
immediately I assigned my Beginning Mixed Choir and the intermediate
choir, Chorale to Christopher, allowing a lasting bond to begin forming. He
was creative with his lessons, took charge and demanded the respect of the
class. It was not long until those classes were truly “his”.

Mr. Newsom proved to be a team player as soon as he began teaching with

me here at Rincon/University H.S. Our school produces a full scale musical
that allowed Christopher to participate not only as a judge for the auditions
but also a vocal coach, choreographer, costumer, set designer and assistant
stage manager. His knowledge of the stage and musical theatre is
exceptional!

During all his various lessons, from music theory, to the introduction of new
music, to a section on the History of Musical Theater, Christopher Newsom
always was creative and engaging. It gives me great pleasure to recommend
to you Christopher Newsom as a top level Secondary Music Teacher. He
will truly be an asset in any choral situation made available to him.
