ECAM Wheel Page Indications

1. AMBER LG DOOR SYMBOL - Indicates the landing gear door is fully open

2. AMBER LG DOOR SYMBOL - Indicates the landing gear door is in transit.

3. GREEN LG DOOR SYMBOL - Indicates the landing gear door is locked up.

The landing gear positions are indicated by two triangles for each gear. The left triangle is controlled by LGCIU 1; the
right by LGCIU 2.

A missing landing gear triangle indicates that one LGCIU detects that a landing gear is uplocked.

4. GREEN TRIANGLE - One LGCIU detects a landing gear is downlocked.

5. RED TRIANGLE - Indicates one LGCIU detects a landing gear is in transit.

6. AMBER XXXs IN TRIANGLE - Indicates that one LGCIU has failed.

7. UPLOCK ANNUNCIATION - Annunciation appears if the landing gear uplock is engaged when the landing gear is
downlocked.

Brake Temperature Indications

BRAKE TEMPERATURE INDICATION - Brake temperature indication (green) is displayed above wheel number
identification (white number). Brake temperature is displayed as a green number below 300°C. At or above 300°C brake
temperature is displayed as an amber brake temperature indication.

ARC - A green arc appears on the hottest wheel when one brake temperature exceeds 100°C. When the brake
temperature exceeds 300°C, the arc becomes amber on the hottest wheel.

Landing Gear and Brake Legends

STEERING - The STEERING legend appears amber in case of nose wheel steering failure or the A/SKID and N/W STRG
switch is OFF.

L/G CTL - The L/G CTL legend appears amber when a disagreement between the landing gear lever position and landing
gear position is detected.

A/SKID - The A/SKID legend appears amber associated with ECAM caution for any the following:

 Total BSCU failure

 A/SKID and N/W STRG switch is OFF

 Anti-skid failure detected by the BSCU

AUTO BRK - The AUTO BRK legend appears amber in case of AUTO BRK system failure.

Landing Gear Up Indication

The landing gear lever provides electrical signals to the LGCIUs which control the hydraulic safety valves. When selecting
gear UP or DOWN with the airspeed less than 260 KIAS, all landing gear doors open, the gear retracts or extends, and all
doors close.

When the airspeed is greater than 260 KIAS, a hydraulic safety valve closes to cut off the hydraulic supply. Below 260
KIAS, it remains cut off as long as the landing gear lever is UP. The safety valve is controlled by the gear lever and ADIRU
1 and/or 3.

During gear retraction, automatic braking is applied to the main gear wheels by a normal braking system. The landing
gear is held up mechanically in the wheel wells.
Anti-Skid Indications

The green release indication illuminates after the landing gear has been extended indicating that the antiskid signal is
valid. At touch down the release indications only appear when the antiskid is active along with REL (blue).

Alternate Brake Mode

The ALTN BRK legend appears green if braking system is in the alternate mode. Alternate mode braking does not
provide for auto braking. Antiskid may or may not be available depending on failures.

The yellow hydraulic system automatically provides alternate brakes when:

 Green hydraulic pressure is insufficient

 Electrical power has failed

 BSCU has failed

 A/SKID & N/W STRG switch is selected OFF

In the last three cases, alternate braking is available but without antiskid. If both the green and yellow hydraulic systems
fail, the accumulator supplies pressure for at least seven full brake applications

Auto Brakes Armed

AUTO BRK - The AUTO BRK legend appears green whenever the auto brake system is armed. It flashes green for 10
seconds after auto brake disengagement. It becomes amber in case of system failure.

DECELERATION RATE - A green MED, LOW, or MAX legend indicates selected deceleration rate on Auto Brake System.
