GEO-MODELING COMPETITION

A. Event Background

“Geology Modelling Competition” is one of the competition which is held

inside series of events of GRANITE 2018, this competition is open for all
undergraduates students from geological department and also from any
various sciences and other earth techniques which is still associated with
petroleum geology (Petroleum Engineering and Geophysics or
Geophysical Engineering). Concept of this competition is a subsurface
geological modelling making, accompanied by analysis and interpretation
of modelling result, using a software to process geological data.

This “Geology Modelling Competition” events will be divided into two

stages, ie:

A.1. Workshop

Each Team (or their representative) must attend the pre-event

workshop. Workshop will be held in order to guide participants about
how to operate software that will be used to make a geological
model. This workshop will be lasts for one day. At the end of
workshop, will be given a case as material to be contested.

A.2. Competition

Participants must process the competition data at Geophysics

Laboratory at Geology Department (Building D), Trisakti University. If
the period of lab usage is over, participants are allowed to create
reports on their campus. Participants must submit a soft copy of the
report to granite.competition@gmail.com. Deadline of submission is
September 30, 2018, and each Team will give their presentation on
October 9, 2018. Presentation will take place in building D, Campus A,
Trisakti University, Jakarta.

B. Assessment

Assessment will be based on workflow, reasons of submitted parameter,

reasons of proposed well submission, and technical of presentation.

C. Assessment Team

Assessment Team consists of academics and practitioners who experts in

geological modeling.
D. Terms and Condition

Participants

1. Participant is Geology Engineering and Geophysics

Engineering Undergraduates students.

2. The maximum amount of students in one team is 3

students. Only Students from batch 2014 and younger can
enter the competition.

3. Each team (their representative or team leader) must attend

the pre-event workshop.

4. Each team who has submitted their report and presentation

materials is required to be in Jakarta on October 9, 2018
and required to give their presentation in building D,
Campus A, Trisakti University on Oktober 5, 2016.

Every participant must wear formal clothes, pantofel (man)

and heels shoes (woman), and allowed to carry their personal
stuff (laptop, etc).

5. The Committee will disqualify participant who do not obey

the applicable regulations.

6. Participants will be assumed that they have read this terms

and condition and agree to them.

 GEOLOGICAL MODEL

1. All data are processed by using software which has been

installed at event “Installation and Workshop” which start
from seismic interpretation to proposed well.
2. All data that will be used to make a geological model is
given during the event “installation and workshop”.

3. Geological Model is the original work of each team not

interference of a lecturer or professional geologist who is
only allowed to become a mentor.

4. Participants may use their own software with notes that the
software must the same software that committee has
provided and also has the legal license (not pirated).

5. Geological Model along with report and presentation

materials, which contains analysis and interpretation
results, are required to be made and submitted due to time
specified by the committee. Outline must be made in a
normal way, according to rule of writing scientific reports.

6. At the time of presentation, the result of geological model

(processed in software) is required to be shown to
assessment team.

7. The Committee will disqualify the participants with the

work that is not in accordance with the applicable
regulation.

8. Participant is required to submit host name and physical

address (ethernet adapter local area connection) and
captured from laptop in which software will be installed.
Deadline of submission is August 30, 2018, submit to
granite_2016@yahoo.co.id to get the software license.

 GUIDE REPORTS

1. Report cover is made with format: paper size A4, font Times
New Roman, capital, bold, paragraph center, by listing
report title (font size 20), with addition sentence: Disusun
Dalam Rangka Kompetisi Geomodeling GRANITE 2018
(font size 12), nama anggota tim (font size 14), lambang
institusi perguruan tinggi (5×5 cm), nama institusi
perguruan tinggi lengkap: Program Studi, Fakultas,
Perguruan tinggi dan tahun pembuatan (font size 16)

2. Contens of report is typed in a good Indonesian (According

to EYD), with format: paper size A4, font Times New
Roman, font size 12, spacing 1.5, paragraph justify, margin
normal, put the page in the lower right corner, and each
chapter title is typed with capital and bold.

3. Composition of report:

4. All reports manuscripts are saved in PDF file format.

GUIDE PRESENTATION MATERIALS

1. Made in Power Point file format.

 2. Contains of the outline (points) according to contents
of report, not more than 30 pages.

E. Registration Procedure

1. Registration starts from June 5, 2018 until August 20, 2018.

2. Download form from hmtgusakti.org/granite website

3. Fill the form and send it along with the terms that must be
completed to granite.trisakti@gmail.com.

4. Wait for the confirmation from the committee of GRANITE 2016

5. Lakukan pembayaran dan kirimkan bukti pembayaran tersebut

ke email GRANITE 2018
Biaya pendaftaran sebesar Rp1.000.000,00 / tim (1 tim = 3 orang)

6. Wait for the email confirmation from committee to attend the

workshop in Jakarta.

7. The Competition takes place in building D, Campus A,

Trisakti University, Jakarta.
