Railway Coverage Challenges
Due to the nature of Railway projects, they have specific challenges :

• Maintaining coverage and service availability

• User experience ( Accessibility, Retainability, Data Rates)
• Frequency Planning Challenges and limitations
• High Penetration loss (15-30 dB)

To overcome these challenges, two solutions are available :

(1) Add more base stations (2) On Board Repeaters

- BS per Operator will be needed - Shared for all operators
- BS coverage Footprint 500-1000m - BS will be needed every ~ 10-20km

Node AM’s uplink noise transmitted back to the base station

• Nearby base stations will be attenuated while base stations far away will be
amplified with maximum gain, resulting in an overall dynamic range of 70 dB
