To whom it may concern:

I am writing this letter on behalf of Alexis Buenaventura. Alexis was a student in my American
Literature and Contemporary Composition classes for the 2017-2018 school year. In addition she
was enrolled in my eleventh grade Advisory class. Alexis is very kind and dedicated, and I am
happy that I got the chance to get to know her last year. She is very active in extracurricular
activities at Carson High School and volunteers her time to make a positive impact on her
community. Throughout her years at Carson High, Alexis has received multiple awards for her

Alexis is very considerate and is respectful toward her classmates and teachers. She worked
extremely effectively in groups producing exemplary work in two particular projects that were
assigned last year. In one project Alexis and her group wrote and performed a scene of social
commentary that focused on students being bullied in school. It was a thoughtful and sensitive
portrayal of an important issue.

Alexis has been recognized for her many outstanding achievements. As a sophomore and a junior
she received the Award for Perfect Attendance demonstrating how committed she is to succeed
academically. She also received an award for her exceptional performance in her English class.
Alexis has played an active part in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (MCJROTC) at
Carson High and was recently promoted to second Lieutenant because of her exceptional
leadership skills.

Alexis has also been very active in extracurricular activities at Carson High School and in her
community. She has been a member of the Maharlika Club which celebrates Filipino culture since
she was a freshman. Alexis has also been working with the Boys and Girls Club at Carson High.
Outside of school, she is part of the Filipino Migrant Center (FMC) and participates in a program
that help Filipino youth stay in touch with their culture and continue learning about it. For her hard
work and dedication, Alexis received an award from the Filipino Migrant Center.

Alexis is an impressive young woman and her future is bright. I believe she will be successful in
whatever she chooses to pursue. It is my pleasure to write this letter on her behalf.

Sincerely yours,
