We are bringing to a close a busy and successful year, and preparing to launch into 2016 with added pep, Youll find in this month's issue Steve Strode’s conclusion to his brilliant year-long colour series (pages 10 to 13), which we all hope has helped build your confidence and understanding of the mechanics of painting. Steve's a great proponent of painting to learn, freeing yourself up to enjoy the process of painting and experimenting rather than simply making a judgement on the final result. This month he offers seasoned advice on how to develop your knowledge and practice further through a number of activities from keeping daily sketchbooks and journals to joining a club, class or workshop, and studying your subject in depth. Tony Paul launches his new 17-part colour series in the January 2016 issue. He promises a comprehensive view of colours in a variety of different media, where he will be discussing pigments and their composition, lightfastness, transparency/opacity, tinting strength and staining.
