General Information

Pick Up Cards

A pick up card is a card that is given to parents/guardians upon child’s arrival at the school
(when the parent/guardian hands over the child to the class teacher and enters the hall/class).
The purpose of this card is for security measures where we only allow the person with your
child’s pick up card to pick up your child at dismissal time.

This facility is for your child’s safety and we encourage every parent’s participation. We are only
able to issue one pick up card per child for safety measures. Please make sure you make
arrangement to hand over your child’s pick up card to the person who will pick your child up
after school if you are going straight to work after dropping off your child. Kindly approach the
admin desk if you find difficulty in following the pick up procedure for arrangements of special
case pick up procedure.

Pick Up Area and Procedures

Children from all levels will be dismissed through the hall.

Late pick up:

Different levels have different dismissal time; the lower the level is, the shorter the school hours.
We encourage parents to pick up the children according to the specified dismissal time.
Children, especially from the lower level take this punctuality seriously as they will feel
threatened or insecure if they are picked up late. The upper level children on the other hand
may feel hungry when they are not picked up on time.

We encourage parents to notify the class teachers if they are not able to pick up the child on
time beforehand.

Waiting Area

The waiting area is at the school area where there are benches provided. We seek co-operation
from parents whose nannies wait in the school compound to inform the nannies to wait in this
waiting area.

Birthday Celebration

We welcome birthday celebrations to be held in school. The celebration may only be held during
snack time in the classroom. Inviting clowns or event organizers in the classroom is not allowed
as the celebration is only limited to 30 minutes. Parents who would like to celebrate the child’s
birthday in school must register at the administration at least 2 days before the celebration day
as the class teacher will need to prepare the classroom and adjust the lessons of the day
beforehand.

Health Issue

Your child’s health is utmost importance to us. Please be aware that Apple Tree family consists
of many other children and we would like to avoid transfer of virus or illness through children
who are sent to school unwell. Please keep your child at home if he/she is unwell. The school
will send home any child who shows symptoms of illness such as common cold, severe running
nose or coughing.
If your child is returning to school after recovering from common contagious diseases such as
typhoid, HFMD, chicken pox, mumps or measles, a doctor’s certificate stating that your child has
fully recovered from the illness and is no longer contagious will be needed.

Accident Report

Accident happens sometimes. We do our best to minimize the possibility of accident occurring.
In case of any accident, the teacher will send out an accident report form for parents to read and
acknowledge. Kindly sign the accident report form and return it to the class teacher on the
following day.

Absence

We encourage parents to notify teachers if your child is sick or will not attend school for more
than 2 days in a row.

Reports

Daily Activities Report

A report on your child’s daily activities in school will be given out every Tuesday of the following
week. The class teacher will write comments regarding your child’s performance in school
during that week. Kindly sign the parent’s acknowledgement section and return the folder to the
class teacher on the following day.

A school year consists of 4 terms. Parents will receive different kinds of reports at the end of
each term.

Term 1: Progressive Report Term 3: Teacher’s Report

Term 2: Report Book Term 4: Report Book

Parent – Teacher Meeting will be conducted at the end of Term 2 and Term 4 where the Report

Each child is entitled for a “Personal Portfolio” at the end of the school year. The content of
