• A Master’s degree in educational technology and background in relevant field (e.g. TESOL,
curriculum design, developmental psychology)
• Proven significant expertise and experience in the successful development and evaluation of
central academic language or learning support programs and activities and the development
of resources including e-learning resources.
• Ability to initiate and manage various projects and initiatives related to development of
embedded academic and study skills programs and to deliver on outcomes.
• Demonstrated high level ability to analyze and interpret a complex range of information to
address emerging issues in academic transition and learning support.
• Proven ability to provide expert advice with influence to academic, teaching and
professional staff.
• Capacity to embrace new approaches to learning and to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing
environment.
Position Summary: The Instructional Designer will develop functional and leadership training
programs and materials for employees at all levels of the organization. The position primarily focuses
on instructional design knowledge and expertise, project management, and occasional facilitation.
Recommend, design, develop, evaluate, and maintain creative learning solutions that include,
but are not limited to, eLearning, video, mobile, activities, simulations, assessments, job aids,
classroom experiences, and blended learning experiences.
Effectively apply alternative training mediums methods (self-study, online, classroom training,
blended) to improve skill development and to accommodate distance learning, learning style
and cultural differences.
Write and edit storyboards, interactive scripts, and other learning documentation.
Design & develop eLearning courses and materials using a variety of web-based authoring
tools (Captivate, Storyline, Lectora, etc.). HTML coding experience preferred.
Design & develop graphics, illustrations and other visuals to represent complex content, facts,
processes and procedures leveraging advanced software (e.g. Adobe suite)
Develop strategies and use technologies that leverage digital media to educate and improve
performance.
Lead and participate in special projects, including the piloting of new and emerging learning
technology, learning effectiveness, learning metrics, course delivery, etc.
Defines the scope of learning solutions in terms of goals, objectives, deliverables, and
milestones to reduce risk and minimize timelines.
Execute end-to-end project management process which can include performance consulting,
project leadership, designing, development, implementation, communication of solution,
securing resources, controlling project process, project close-down and keeping to timelines
defined in project scope.
Collaborate with stakeholders for development of training programs that support business
initiatives.
Manages and coordinates projects and training activities to completion, including subject
matter expert collaboration, agreement and approval.
Works with subject matter experts to obtain the appropriate information to fulfill the detail
design specifications for assigned deliverables.
Successfully manages multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines throughout the
project life cycle.

Develop tools to evaluate and measure training effectiveness using Kirkpatrick's Four-Level
Evaluation Model.
Identify critical success factors and design assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of
training materials/programs.
Make recommendations and modify training programs, as appropriate, based upon the
results of training effectiveness metrics and quality review results.
Required:
Apply strong creativity skills to design curriculum and develop content that is effective for the
learner, regardless of delivery modality is required.
Extensive knowledge of current and future instructional design technologies (to include e-
learning, mobile learning, ILT, etc.) is a plus.
Advanced skill in using Adobe Suite tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro,
Dreamweaver, Acrobat Pro DC, etc.) is preferred.
Advanced skill in a variety of web-based authoring tools (Captivate, Storyline, Lectora, etc.).
Experience using virtual facilitation tools (WebEx); content management systems; and
learning management systems is preferred.
Ability to effectively organize work, prioritize and manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced,
deadline and project-driven environment.
Ability to organize work flow to manage multiple projects and accomplish tasks with follow-
through to completion.
