This course analyzes the legal aspects of a project and prepare students to
administrate a project. The scope of study includes construction contract,
insurance, bonds, negotiation and dispute resolution, cost estimation and
bidding.
METHOD AND TECHNOLOGY OF CONSTRUCTION
This course provides an understanding of construction work and technology in
the construction industry, especially in buildings and bridges. The scope of study
includes foundation work, basement work, top-down and up-down construction
methods, form-work technology, pre-cast concrete technology and construction
methods for bridges.
PLANNING, SCHEDULING, CONTROLLING AND
PROJECT COST MANAGEMENT
This course provides an understanding of the total process of construction
projects and methods that control quality, schedule, and project cost.
PROCUREMENT
This course delivers advanced knowledge of planning, management, construction
equipment, construction materials and all aspects of the construction methods.
This course provides an understanding of the basic concepts of cost evaluation
and its components. The scope of study includes the time concepts of money
(present value, discount rate, net present value), evaluation methods (payback,
return on book value), feasibility studies for project, depreciation, constant and
variable costs, break-even point, construction economics in industry, estimation,
risk and uncertainty.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This course presents the research process, research methodology and how to
analyze the research findings in order to answer the research problems.
RESEARCH SEMINAR
This course prepares the students to discuss the research progress through
presentation in classroom, public seminar, and publish it in national or
international journals. All publications will be gathered as the comprehensive
research for the Final Project.
FINAL PROJECT
The final project is offered in two formats: Thesis, and Project Report on
Feasibility Study. The student will conduct an independent and planned research
project report on feasibility study under the direction of an advisor.
