JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : Discipline Supervisor

LOCATION : Project Site

PURPOSE : This Job Description defines the duties and responsibilities of a


Discipline Supervisor.

SCOPE : This Job Description shall apply to anyone who is assigned to the job
irrespective of his grade in the Company.

REPORTING TO : Discipline Engineer

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
 Education: Minimum Matric Preferably DAE
 Experience: 10-15 years

CONCEPT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent is responsible to deliver his work with quality at stipulated time schedule as per
DSTS. He is required to achieve or exceed activity efficiency benchmark within the budgeted
parameters. He is also to ensure that all HSE procedures are being followed. He must be well aware
of the original scope of work so that he is able to identify extra work and report it.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. QUALITY OBJECTIVES COMMITMENT


Ensure achievement of Quality Objectives defined for the project management systems for
continuous improvement.

Progress and Efficiency


 Achieve weekly/ daily work progress targets provided by the Discipline Incharge.
 Emphasize on efficiency against planned productivity.
 Get efficiency as set in the budgeted norms, from manpower & equipment working under
his charge by effectively sequencing work and controlling rework, idle man-hours and
carries out all the work according to the latest drawings and specifications.
 Remain at work site all times.
 Fully apprise with following day’s work in advance and discuss any special requirements
with Discipline Incharge. Does not leave site without having next day’s DSTS.
 Report progress slippage to Discipline Incharge.

Quality and HSE


 Give prime importance to human and assets Safety.
 Maintain Quality and safety standards at his job area.
 Keep good housekeeping in his work area.
 Take measures for security of tool, plant and equipment and other assets being used by his
teams.
 Organize daily Toolbox Talk explaining his team target of the day and safety and technical
requirement to execute the target job assignments.

Resource Availability
Check quantity and material specifications of material received, as per drawings.

Understanding of Work-scope, Procedures and Systems


 Understand and interprets technical drawings, specifications and relevant work instructions
to his team.
 Record correct cost centers on the DSTS and all other documentation involved.
 Implement construction site procedures within his area of work, ensure correct use of tools
and other resources and their maintenance/ cleanliness.
 Any discrepancies in drawing and actual work are brought to the knowledge of Discipline
Incharge and only proceed after any instructions to deviate, are received.

Cost Control
 Deploy resources with zero idling. Control cost in terms of man-hours, deployment of plant
& equipment, consumables, etc.
 Minimize rework cost by addressing poor workmanship, material wastage and coaching
his team to deliver the right product by using the best technical methods.

Team Administration
 Demonstrate good administrative and interpersonal relationship skill to effectively manage
his job. Develop and maintain environment of teamwork and ownership amongst his team
members.
 Resolve technical conflicts and suggest the ways to work around the bottlenecks, where
necessary, gets guidelines from the Discipline Engineer.

Performance Feedback
Provide unbiased inputs for performance appraisals of his workers as and when required.

Owns and complies with Company’s policies addressed in Management Manual, Quality, HSE, Core
& Operating Values.
