• I am paying the $100,000 Councillor salary for the Housing Initiative as posted on my website peterrusin.com; housing is key to a high quality of life
including good health, all else is secondary
• I am experienced with a unique skill set; this is not the time for beginners
• Remember, you are electing people who are responsible for managing a corporation and controlling how much taxes YOU pay; so vote for somebody
with competency in dealing with local governance and who brings qualifications and experience to the table; not the time for beginners or for
somebody who says they will listen to you; we all listen, it is the person who delivers results is who you want; I have a 30 year track record of negotiating
over 3,000 transactions between various public and private sector parties, including a wide range of land use planning and development issues which
currently have an adverse affect on the Ward 2 area in particular. No other candidate has this background and experience, including Meed Ward
who is a journalist by trade. One can argue that she was the cause of the mess; think about it; 8 years of fighting instead of working collaboratively.

THE TRUTH 1
• Meed Ward misled people on the Waterfront deal that got her elected last time; I negotiated the Waterfront deal and possess the factual evidence
including a comprehensive report used at Council as well as the greater details of the truth to share with people; she lies when she states Goldring
sold waterfront parkland; fact is title was transferred for land under about 4 feet of water for shoreline protection works that resulted in the backfilling
and construction of a shoreline protection retaining wall at the expense of private property owners; if the owners did not enter into a cost sharing
agreement with the City and the MNR, all the houses would have fallen into the Lake and St. Paul St. and Market St. would also have eroded into the Lake;
there was NEVER any waterfront trail opportunity and the approval for the shoreline protection as well as the multi-party agreement dates back to 1989;
Meed Ward lied about all of this to get your vote in 2014 and publicly mistreated her own constituents. This was completely unconscionable behaviour
by a civil servant who should know that she has a duty to perform at higher ethical and moral levels.

THE TRUTH 2
• There are NOT 30 purposed new high-rise buildings downtown; same as with the Waterfront deal, Meed Ward is now once again in time for an election,
preying on the trust of people; this is a scare tactic the likes of which have never been witnessed before in a municipal election. The truth is there
will NOT be 30 buildings. I know because I have the expertise to understand high density development and municipal planning; 30 years proven
experience all across the GTA, including a Provincial Cabinet Appointment at the Environment and Land Tribunals Ontario, in my goal of trying to help
provide fair, equitable, and humane treatment of people who also deserve their governments provide easy access to justice and most importantly
to be truthful and not misleading. The people of Ward 2 in particular deserve qualified representation; no more lies and ineffective governance.

THE PEOPLE
• People need to be treated with respect and told the Truth, always
• I am doing this for the benefit of not only Ward 3 but also for the benefit of Ward 2 as well as the entire City of Burlington
• Transparency, Accountability, and the Truth = Effective Governance and Happy Citizens
