YOUTH PROGRAM
The HSO Youth Program presents a unique opportunity for music students in
Simcoe County to perform with a full symphony orchestra. The Huronia
Symphony Orchestra’s professional conductor, core instrumentalists, and
dedicated community musicians offer an enriched environment for students
to discover a whole new world of music making. This opportunity is free of
charge and open to all music students who live or study in Simcoe County.

Youth Musicians: Play with the Huronia Symphony at our annual family concert!
Love, Trust, and Fairy Tales
Music students playing at a pre-orchestral level will participate in rehearsal workshops with HSO
Artistic Director Oliver Balaburski. They will then join the entire Huronia Symphony to rehearse.
Tales & Legends
On Sunday, February 10, the Huronia Symphony Youth Program participants will combine with
the HSO to play a youth version of the first movementTfrom Beethoven’s famous Fifth Symphony.

1. Youth Program participants are expected to attend both rehearsal workshops (January 20 and Feb.
3) and the final rehearsal on concert day (February 10) in order to participate in the HSO Family
Concert: Love, Trust and Fairy Tales.
2. An application received by November 1, 2018 will secure your place in the HSO Youth Program.
Spaces in the program are limited.
