EMPLOYMENT REFERENCE CHECKS/VERIFICATION POLICY

All verbal or informal requests for information about employees or former employees
will be referred to the Human Resources Department.
All written responses to requests for information about employees or former
employees will be provided by the Human Resources Department.
Information released orally will be limited to confirming wages, dates of
employment, job titles, and job status (full-time, part-time, etc.). Confirmation of
wage information will only be made if the requester can provide the employee's
social security number and the release of the information is approved by the
employee or former employee in writing.
Other information will only be provided upon receipt of a written statement signed by
the current or former employee, specifying what information he or she agrees to
release.
