Contenidos: Family members (mother, father, sister, brother, grandad, grandma).

Objetivos: to learn vocabulary related to family.


Revise numbers 1 -10.
To have fun while singing painting and colouring.
Develop their listening by listening songs and instructions.
Identify different members of the family.
Describe their own members of the family.

Teaching approach: this lesson is based on the Natural approach, and organized through the PPP
procedure.

Materials and resources: puppets made of (goma eva) introducing the family members, markers, color
pencils, sticks, hard paper, glue, photos. (to create a hand made family portrait).
Pegagogicail use of ICT in class: A video will be used to support the presentation and exposure. Then
it will be sentd to their parents through email to watch them at home. This enhaces language learning
and acquisition.

Setting arrangement: Students will be siting in a row.

Cooperative work: Students play together but not yet in collaboratively as they do have some
difficulties in sharing.

Possible problems during the class: If students get too excited I will clap my hands and say stop.

Potential language problems: In case of having undestanding problems, I will try to use more
gestures, or pointing to pictures or drawing.

Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I will check if they comprehend, by observing them
singing and producing the chunks of a language.

Routine: 5 min.

Purpose to start the lesson, get students into the mood for work.

I greet the students “ Hello, children hello children, how are you, how are you? Pointing the student.
Fine. Fine. “ Also, this is the way we say hello, say hello, say hello, to you and you! (pointing to each
child).

Warm – up: 10min:

Purpose: To introduce the topic and the teaching points.

Teacher, brings a suitcase and says, “here lives


the Green Family” She knocks on the suitcase
“tock, tock.. is mother there? No one answers...
is father there?...
no, one answers.. for sure they are
sleeping...and makes a snoooring sound..

Let´s open the suitcase.. she opens it and wakes


them up! Woo! . Sts. take the puppets out of
the suitcase and while they are doing in it ,
teacher mention the names; Mom, dad,
brother... and so on.

Transition: Now, let´s close the suitcase (teacher uses gestures and miming as a strategy) for them to
understand the instructions.

Presentation: 10 min.

Let´s sit and watch a nice video and get ready to sing a song about a family.

twice.
Transition: Let´s see how is your family ….

Practice: 15 min

She shows the portrait made by her. She asks Sts. Do you have a
brother? is it bigger or smaller than you? ( she uses mimic
technique). Once they mention their family members. Teacher,
shows a family portrait. She tells them, that they are going to do a
similar one. She takes a hard paper. Teacher draws student´s hand,
and she asks them to colour it and write with different colours, only
(mom, dad, me. (As shown in the picture). If they want they can
write (brother, sister). And at home they will paste photos of their
family.

Clousure: Teacher sings; it´s time it´s time to put everything away, markers, scissors, and pencils.
Students put everything away. And for next class teacher asks their parents to take a photo of the
completed portrait done by them.

Observations Nice Vane! I love the idea of taking a suitcase. You will bring some
mystery to the lesson.

I think you should just trace their hands, and write the names of the
members of the family on the fingers. They can finish that at home
(you should always include the note in the lesson plan).

The Green Family can help them practise family members more.
You can hide the members of this family in different places and
play some hide-and-seek, for instance. Remember to provide a lot
of exposure and practice.

Take the comments into account for further lesson plans. And do
