(Parliament) received the asscnt of the President on 20th Novernber.20lT and is
hereby published for gcncral information: -

An ,4ct to ctmencl the Eleclion Act, 2017

WHEREAS it is cxpcdient to amend the Elections Act.20l7 (XXXIII of

2017) for purposes hercinafter appearing;

It is hereby enacted as follows:-

1. Short titlc and commencement.-(l) This Act may be called the

lrlectiorrs (Second Arncndment) Ac1.,2017 .

(2) It shall con.rc inlo force at once.

Prophet or religious rcforrner shall remain the same as providcd in the
Constitution ofthc Islamic Republic ofPakistan, 1973.

(2) Ifa pelson has got himsclf enrolled as votcr and objection is filed
before the Revising Authority notified under this Act that suclr a yoter is
not a Musliur, the Revising Authority shall issue a notice to him to
appear before it within fiftecn days and require him to sign a declaration
reproduccd below regarding his belief about the absolute and
unqualified finality of the Prophethood of Muharnmad (peace be upon
him). In case he refuses to sign the declaration as aforesaid, he shall be
decmcd 1o be a non-Muslirn and his name shall be deletcd from thejoint
elcctoral tolls and added to a supplementary list of votcls in the samc
electotal area as non-Muslim. [n case the voter does not turn up irr spite
of scr.rice of rotice- aD ot-pafla ordcr may be passed against hin.

3. Amendrnent of section 24L in Act XXXIII of 2017.-ln the said

Act, in section 241 , in clause (f), before the semicolon, the expression "except
Articles l, 78 and TC" shalI be omitted.
