Action Items on the agenda

1. In the general meeting of classes the latest class rules should be approved by all.

GBR/GER/ Action for all classes to put the latest class rules on the agenda of the general meeting.

2. Latest version of class rules should be on the websites of UK/DE and NL

GBR/GER/ Action for all classes to send a copy of the recent class rules to the contact addresses for
NED communication Javelin International (see table below the minutes) and put a copy on their website.

3. Update on national policy, the Dutch KNWV wants the class rules to be uniform
according ISAF; Proposal, Dutch class take the initiative.

Willem Slendebroek has a specification from the KNWV in English. Wardo will send this specification
Wardo to the GER and GBR contact person.

4. Confirmation on ISAF measurements rules.

a. Both English and Dutch class have adopted the ISAF measurements rules. Class measurers
are trained, ISAF measurements rules are however not referenced in the class rules.
Amendment of rules will be proposed in annual meeting of national classes before the end of
2018

5. Boatbuilding update and technical issues

a. Legal owner of Javelin design = Peter Milne represented by Richard Fisher
b. Legal owner of Javelin mould = Paul Wright with the exception of the revised bow buoyancy
tank, which was made by, and for, James Jarvey.
c. Wardo will ask James Jarvey to make a quotation for the refurbishing of the mould and will
initiate the discussion in the national classes to pay the cost of refurbishing by all 3 class
organizations.

6. Measurement of every boat and transparency in the registry of boats

a. Every boat should be measured and the Javelin Class Rules and Measurements FORM
should be registered by the class organization and be available on request.

After the construction the boats are weighted. This has to be checked by the class measurer

Decision: every new boat needs a certification of measurement that is given by the class measurer.
GER has no class measurer, Wardo will enquire if Arent de Jong and Willem Slendebroek are
available for the German boat measurement.

Before the race starts there has to be a check if the measurement certification is still there.
 In the General Meeting the sailors need to be informed about this decision and how the
GBR/GER/ measurement works. Action for all classes to put this on the agenda of the general meeting.

7. Planning skype meetings during the year for Javelin International.

Betty Skype meetings will be planned by Betty. She will send a few proposals for a Sunday evening at 7
pm. First meeting will be in September. She will send the proposals and invitations to the contact
All persons in the contact list below the minutes. Action for all to supplement this list with the right info.

8. Measuring all new boats at Carnac that have no measurements form (to be entered in
the program/announcements).

PAST DUE

9. Suitable dates for the Euro’s 2019 in Holland in relation to British and German
Holidays.

ALL The proposal following the holidays (GBR, GER and NED) is July 29th (start date). Action for all
classes to confirm this date.

10. Communication

GBR/GER/ Official correspondence: by email and the website.

NED Action: Put a page on each website with information about Javelin International. With the name and
a photo of the contact person for Javelin International.

Facebook may (only) be used as an extra communication tool.

Jan In NED Jan created a ‘WhatsApp’ group for the Javelin sailors. Jan will invite the other sailors in
GBR and GER.

11. Bringing Javelin International a live again

How to let the old boats sail again?

Jan Jan has a format for selling old boats. He will send it to GBR and GER.
We also have to inform each other when there is a boat for sale and also when somebody wants to
buy a boat.
