Bill Plympton

He is an American animator born in Portland,Oregon USA, he was born 1946 and is best
known for his work on the animation called Your face. His career began when the illustrations
and cartoons that he made were published in the The New York Times, and a weekly
newspaper called The Village Voice. The style of animations was easy to recognize in the, it
also appeared in over 20 newspapers. He has created over 40 animated short films as well as
6 six animated features. Plus a comic book called The Sleazy Cartoons of Bill Plympton.

His animation style is very dynamic, and also flexible being able to warp or change rader
quickly. Its looks simplistic but when looking more into the drawings they look a lot more
detailed. The animation is also very smooth in the transitions in between the each different

action. His animation are hand


draw and he known as the king of indie animation. Most of his films have no dialogue and
have caricature art style with helps to create dramatic almost theatrical expressions.

Richard Williams
He is a British Canadian, born in 1933, he is animation and a voice actor. He is best known
being an animation director in a Disney film, Who farmed roger rabbit (1988) his magnum
opus was a The Thief and the Cobbler, an animated fantasy film. That began in 1964 and was
self-funded and inspired by Arabian nights. It was mostly aimed at adult audience, but it was
dismissed and consider as unremarkable, over twenty years he had only completed 20
minutes of the film. So he sought after a production deal with Warner Bros in 1988. However
the production went over the deadline and in 1992 there was only 15 minutes left to complete
for the film. The Completion Bond Company, had taken the project due to similarity to
Disney’s Aladdin.

The film had many changes, new scenes created and it was released internationally in 1993
as The Princess and the Cobbler. Miramax had acquired the rights to the project and
extensively rewrote and re-edited the film. Later it was released as Arabian Knight in 1995.
He also wrote a book called The animators survival guide, it teaches how to create animation
using simple shapes to create complex and dynamic characters.

He creates animation by hand drawing it, the animation style is fluid in the characters
movement.
