Thinking Beyond: A Call for Articles

We are happy to inform you that we will be publishing the post-election edition of your
popular journal, Thinking Beyond.

We are therefore kindly requesting for submission of articles. MISA Zimbabwe will pay a
token fee of $50 for each published article. Please note that submitted articles should not
be more than 1 200 words.
Kindly remember to include a brief professional profile of yourself as the writer at the end
of submitted articles as well as your email address and cellphone contact details.

Theme: Leadership Key to Unlocking Zimbabwe’s Potential

SUMMARY NOTE:
Zimbabwe emerged from its 2018 General Elections faced with a plethora of socio-economic ills and
stagnation reminiscent of the hardships of the pre-2009 Government of National Unity hardships.

The meltdown then, as is happening now, was characterised by inflationary price increases of basic
commodities and shortages of foreign currency and fuel and low productivity. Fast forward to 2018
after the GNU-induced stabilisation period which ended in 2013, its de javu.

In the mix of the economic problems is the issue of outstanding reforms critical to unlocking
international financial support and investments to kick-start the ailing economy. This situation
imposes immense responsibilities on President Emmerson Mnangagwa as it demands his urgent
attention of which demonstration of leadership skills and qualities should be the key driver to the
rebranding of Zimbabwe, hence our theme for this edition: Leadership Key to Unlocking Zimbabwe’s
Potential Beyond the 2018 Elections.

Submitted articles should therefore be within the realm of the topics listed beneath.

 Defining Leadership and why leadership is a key ingredient to unlocking Zimbabwe’s


potential.

providing thought leadership.
