Description
Course Type: The “Entry Module” builds up fundamental German as well as medical
language skills and cross-cultural competencies in form of an intensive
course.

Language Level: A1 / A2 (CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

o Solid foundation of German language skills, based on an up-to-date
text book on A1- / A2-level (e.g. “Menschen”, Hueber Verlag)
o Basic Cross-Cultural Training for Doctors: Living & Working in
Germany
• Medical German
o First Steps into Medical German Terminology
o First Steps into Medical Communication

Course • Passing an internal A2 language exam


Objectives: • Passing an internal medical communication and language exam

Faculty: • German language teaching by lecturers for “German as a foreign


language“ with additional qualification “German for medical
professionals“
• Medical training by doctors and trained nurses with lecturers’ support

Description
Course Type: The intensive course “Basic Module” solidly consolidates German as well as
medical language skills and cross-cultural competencies on an independent
user level, which is the fundamental basis for a Medical Specialist Training in
Germany.

Language Level: B1 / B2 (CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Duration: 4 months

Prerequisites • Medical Degree


for Attending: • Proven A2-level of the German language

language skills, competencies, and professional knowledge for a Medical
Specialist Training in Germany with a high ratio of practical exercises.

MKF-PREPARATORY TRAINING "FACHSPRACHPRÜFUNG"


Description
Course Type: This compact preparatory course provides an understanding for the
“Fachsprachprüfung” and includes pinpoint training of all communication
skills required to pass this exam.

Language Level: C1 (CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Duration: 5 days in 2 weeks

Prerequisites • Medical Degree


for Attending: • Good command of the German language on B2-level
• Successful participation in an internal entrance exam

Course Content: Intensive practice by means of simulated exam situations:

“Doctor-Patient Conversation“
(Anamnesis)

“Documentation“
(Textualisation of Medical Findings)

“Doctor-Doctor Discussion“
(Patient Presentation and Discussion of Medical Findings)

All communication requirements (oral, incl. phonetics / pronunciation and


conversation techniques; written incl. medical terminology and
abbreviations) are trained on a full- scale by means of interactive small
group training and role-play.

Teaching Units: 4 teaching units per day

in total: 20 units in 2 weeks (5 days teaching)

MKF-PREPARATORY TRAINING "KENNTNISPRÜFUNG"


Description
Course Type: This training prepares comprehensively for the medical knowledge that is
required for taking the ”Kenntnisprüfung“ and considers individual deficits.
The focus is on developing and subsequently mastering specific learning
strategies including the competent use of supporting learning material and
learning software.
(The expenditure of time for essential intensive self-learning depends on
participants´ individual learning progress and should be calculated with at
least 3 months.)

Language Level: C1 (CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Duration: 1 week + private sessions

Prerequisites • Medical Degree


for Attending: • Strong command of the German language on C1-level
• Successful participation in an internal entrance exam

Course Content: • Substantial information on the learning content of the relevant exam
