Sacred Sexuality
Invocations Supplications for Sanctified Love-Making


Before initiating sexual intimacy, the husband should begin by reciting:

﷽
، ‫ۙ َول َ ْم ي َ ُك ْن لَه ُك ُفوًا ا ََح ٌد‬، ‫َول َ ْم يُ ْول َ ْد‬ ‫ۚ ل َ ْم يَلِ ْد‬، ‫الص َم ُد‬
َ ‫َهلل‬
ُ ‫ۚ ا‬، ‫اهلل ا ََح ٌد‬
‫ه‬
ُ ‫ُق ْل ُ َو‬
“Say: He, Allah, is the indivisible One-and-Only. Allah, the Absolute Plenitude Sufficing-unto-Himself.
He begetteth not and He is not begotten. And there is none like unto Him.” (Al-Qur’an 112)

،‫ت قَ َد ْر َت ا َْن ََتْ ُر َج ِم ْن ُصلْبِ ْي‬ ِ ِ ‫بِس ِم ا‬

َ ْ‫اجعَلْهَا ُذ ِريَةً َطيِبَةً اِ ْن ُكن‬
ْ ‫ اَلل ُه َم‬،‫هلل الْعَل ِي الْعَ ِظي ْ ِم‬ ْ
“In the name of Allah, All-High, All-Mighty.
O Allah, make it a good offspring, if You have decreed that one should issue from my loins.”

،‫ َو َجعَل َ ُه ِس ًرا َول َ ْم ََيْعَل ْ ُه َهتْكًا‬،‫احا‬ ِ ِِ

ً َ‫ا َ ْْل َ ْم ُد لِل ال َ ِذى َجعَل َ ُه نك‬
ً ‫احا َول َ ْم ََيْعَل ْ ُه ِس َف‬
،‫ َو َجعَل َ ُه ِِف ا َْخيَا ٍر َول َ ْم ََيْعَل ْ ُه ِِف ا َ ْش َرا ٍر‬،‫َو َجعَل َ ُه َح ََل ًًل َول َ ْم ََيْعَل ْ ُه َح َرامًا‬
“Praise be to Allah who made marriage and not fornication (the lawful way), who made concealment and not disclosure (the preferred
way), who made permissible and not prohibited (the sexual union), and who made amongst virtues and not vices (the sexual union).”


When initiating sexual intimacy, the couple should recite:

،‫ان َما َرزَقْتَـنَا‬ َ ‫ان َو َج ِن ِب‬ ِ ‫بِس ِم ا‬

َ ‫ اَلل ُه َم َج ِنبْنَا‬،‫هلل‬
َ ‫الشي ْ َط‬ َ ‫الشي ْ َط‬ ْ
“In the name of Allah. O Allah, turn Satan from us, and turn Satan from what You bestow upon us.”


During sexual intimacy:

The couple should not have the thought of gratifying sexual desire alone. Rather, the intent should be aimed at fulfilling
the spiritual aspiration, with the belief that Allah is the Reality, the Existing, and Fashioner of everything.

The husband should harbour no other thought except the Divine Name “Allah” in his mind while the wife should invoke
the firm statement “la ilaha illa-Llah” alone in her thoughts, perceiving only the Real.
In so doing, the husband takes the position of the Pen [qalam] and the wife, with her thoughts, the Tablet [lawh], resulting
in the production of a copy from the original Muhammadan Light [al-Nur al-Muhammadiyyah].


When nearing climax or during orgasm, say to oneself without moving one’s lips:

ِ ‫لِل ال َ ِذ ْى َخل َ َ ِمن ا ْْل‬

،‫آء ب َ َش ًرا فَ َجعَلَه ن َ َسبًا َو ِصهْ ًرا‬ ِ ِ ‫ا َ ْْلم ُد‬
َ َ َْ
“Praise be to Allah, Who out of this [very] water has created man, and has endowed him with
[the consciousness of] descent and marriage-tie” (Al-Qur’an 25:54)

َ ِ ‫اَلل ُه َم ًَل ََتْعَ ْل ل‬

،‫لشي ْ َطانِ فِي ْ َما َرزَقْتَـنَا ن َ ِصيْبًا‬
“O Allah, let there be no share for the Satan in what You grant us.”
