PAY, CHARGE, FEE, COST, PRICE, TOLL, FARE,
FINE, BILL, CLAIM
PAY- Transitive verb (it takes an object) give money
for work, goods received or a debt that occurred
I paid the hotel bill.

I was paid by the client.

 Charge- Transitive verb
to demand an amount for a service that was given
The catering service charged me €25,000 for the gala dinner.

I was charged €25,000 euros for the gala dinner.

 FEE- noun. a fixed charge for admission (as to a museum) b : a

charge fixed by law or by an institution <a college-admission fee>
a payment made to a professional person or to a professional
or public body in exchange for advice or services.

I paid a high accounting fee for tax advice.

Charge- an amount paid for another item, service

For example, if you rent a car, you could have to pay a fueling fee for
the act of taking the car to the station (It’s a service) and fueling it, and
a fuel charge for the actual fuel used. It is often used when referring to
costs on credit cards. There was an unusual charge on my credit card.
PENDING AUTHORIZATION
When a card is charged before the final amount is known, the merchant can request capture
after making adjustments to show the exact amount of the purchase. A pending
authorization will stay in place until the merchant requests the capture of funds that are due.

Fine- noun: A fine is a punishment in which a person is
ordered to pay a sum of money because they have
done something illegal or broken a rule. Fine- verb: I
was fined €50 for parking on a cross walk.
I got a parking fine after parking on a cross walk. We
can also say parking ticket (USA).
 Claim
an application for compensation under the terms of an insurance policy

After the accident I received a very hefty insurance claim.
