Vendor development

• HAL is focusing on identification of suitable vendors within the country at all levels
through various vendor development programs for Indigenisation and Outsourcing.

• Around 2500 vendors are registered with HAL for Outsourcing activities.
• Hosting of ‘Make in India’ portal at HAL website www.hal-india.com with details of
imported items for indigenisation.
• HAL Test Facilities available for Private Vendors.

• List of vendors, vendor development procedures and policies, E-procurement portal


and new initiatives.

New Initiatives at HAL for Vendor development


• R&D Corpus: Allocation of 10% of the profit after the tax and the fund would be
used for development of new technologies and indigenization of major systems/
LRUs which are currently imported.
• A R&D manual is implemented to bring guidelines for R&D projects and
Indigenisation in-house and with Indian private vendors
• The committee of Institutional Network (COIN) is constituted to review and
recommend the R&D projects from 10 R&D centers of HAL for implementation.
• Focus is given to develop MSME vendors and provide maximum support for
Indigenisation, Outsourcing and technology development.
• Collaborating with DRDO labs, premier educational Institutes for development of
latest technologies indigenously.
