List of extreme sports

BASE Jumping: is very extreme activity

that includes a parachute (can be used both
parachute and wingsuit) to jump from
fixed objects, with unopened parachute like
skydiving. The acronym “B.A.S.E.” stands
for: Building, Antenna, Span, Earth – four
categories of objects from which B.A.S.E.
jumper can jump.

White- water rafting: It’s not called

‘white water rafting’ without good reason (it refers to the color of the water when it is
particularly turbulent) — and your knuckles will probably be white too as you make your way
with your team (usually up to eight people) along the raging rapids with nothing more than an
inflatable craft between you and a cold dip!
Hang gliding: is an air sport in which a
pilot flies a light, non-motorized foot-
launch aerospace craft called a hang glider.
Most modern hang gliders are made of
an aluminium alloy or composite frame
covered with synthetic sailcloth to form a
wing. The pilot is ensconced in a harness
suspended from the airframe, and exercises
control by shifting body weight.

Abseiling: (also called rappelling) is the controlled

descent of a vertical drop, such as a rock face, using a
rope. Climbers use this technique when a cliff or slope
is too steep and/or dangerous to descend without
protection.
Bungee jumping: an activity that
involves jumping from a tall structure
while connected to a large elastic cord.
The tall structure is usually a fixed object,
such as a building, bridge or crane; but it is
also possible to jump from a movable
object, such as a hot-air-
balloon or helicopter, that has the ability
to hover above the ground.
The thrill comes from the free-falling and
the rebound. When the person jumps,
the cord stretches and the jumper flies
upwards again.

Extreme ironing (also called EI): an extreme sport and a performance art in which people
take ironing boards to remote locations and iron items of clothing. According to the Extreme
Ironing Bureau, extreme ironing is "the latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an
extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well-pressed shirt."
