Blood cancer is a generalized term for malignancy which attacks the blood, bone marrow, or

lymphatic system. There are three kinds of blood cancer: leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple
myeloma.

Leukemia is malignancy of cells in the blood.

Acute leukemia is characterized by a rapid increase in the numbers of immature blood cells.

Chronic leukemia is characterized by the excessive build up of relatively mature, but still
abnormal, white blood cells.

Some of the specific leukemia blood cancer symptoms are anemia, recurrent infections, bone
and joint pain, abdominal distress and difficult in breathing or dyspnea.

Lymphoma refers to malignant tumors of the lymph system.

In case of lymphomas blood cancer the symptoms depend on location of cancer, where it has
spread, and the size of the tumor. It begins with swelling in the neck, underarm, or groin.

Myeloma is malignancy of plasma cells. Plasma cells are the cells in bone marrow that produce
antibodies.

The first sign of multiple myeloma is bone pain due to bony destruction by plasma cells. Some
of the prominent symptoms include bleeding gums, nose bleeds and easy bruising. Unexplained
bone fractures, kidney failure, persistent infections and weight loss are other signs of the disease.

Collectively they are called Hematological malignancies.

Here we can see that there three different types Blood Cancer.

How can we classify these astrologically?

Moon is the Karaka for Blood. So in general for any type of Blood Cancer, Moon should be
afflicted.

Leukemia :

Here the affliction is primarily that of Moon. The above symptoms also could be attributed to
several planets. Anemia is weakness and shoshana. There are several yogas that indicates this
illness, that are Prathyaksha pramanas. However we can deduce from the planetary positions
also: Anumaana, it is called. Joint pain is definitely related to Saturn. Abdominal distress is related
to 5th house and jupiter. 6th house having malefic planets or association also can give abdominal
distress. Breathing is related to 4th house and Moon.

Immaturity or incomplete growth is the key word here and increase of WBC that are actually
required to keep the blood clean, but increase to such an extent that it destroys even the healthy
cells. In short a suicidal conflict or revolt inside the body : The protector becoming the destroyer.

 In this respect, one should look at Mars as the Senapathy or the protector who turns a rebel and
destroys the element.

Lymphoma:

The lymphatic system is the part of the immune system comprising a network of conduits called
lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph uni-directionally toward the heart. Lymphoid
tissue is found in many organs, particularly the lymph nodes, and in the lymphoid follicles associated
with the digestive system such as the tonsils. The system also includes all the structures dedicated to
the circulation and production of lymphocytes, which includes the spleen, thymus, bone marrow and
the lymphoid tissue associated with the digestive system

This could be related to Mercury, Saturn & Venus.

The tumors are definitely related to Saturn & Rahu. While ulcers and cysts are related to Mars &
ketu. Hence Saturn & Rahu / Ketu are definitely involved in most type of cancers.

Rahu & Ketu also has special characteristic too. While Rahu creates suppressions, rigidness,
thrombosis, arthritic type of afflictions, Ketu is more like an amplifier. It amplifies any condition. In
fact Cancerous growth or tumors are excessive growth of the normal cells that eventually
becomes useless and harmful to the Body. This excessive growth could be attributed to the
excessive strength of planets by way of Retrogression also. I have noted this defect in several
cases of eczema. Ketu helps negatively by amplifying the factors that end up as defects or illness.

While the characteristic of Mars is more stable nature, ketu is the most uncontrollable body
among the nine planets. Uncontrollable due to unpredictability. You can control only when you
can predict what it shall do or how it shall act.

Myeloma :

This is more related with Jala Tatwa of the body and Mars (Bone Marrow). Hence we can relate
this type of Blood cancer to Venus and Mars.

Lagna is Kumbha Rashi which is having Lagna Lord that is retrograde and Gulika. So though
Lagna is having its own lord, it is highly afflicted. Gulika as it is dangerous and particularly so
when it with Saturn and in the Saturn rashi. So Lagna is most afflicted here.

The 3rd house is having Jupiter, a very bad position for Jupiter.

4th is having Mars and

5th is having Sun, Mercury, Venus [R] and Rahu

11nth Ketu.

Moon in the 12th.

So the 4th & 5th is also afflcted by malefics.

For the well being, the Kendra and 8th house should not have Malefis and they should be in the
Upachaya house, Benefic planets should be in the Kendra –Trikona. Lagna should have benefic
aspects.

The chart as a whole is practically opposite to this basic theory. So there is no doubt that though
Lagna lord is situated in the lagna and 5th lord in the 5th, the total outlook of the chart is very
bleak.

Now for the deeper problems.

I had several times mentioned many type of afflictions of the planets that are not visible in the
rashi chart. One has to look deeply.

In this respect,

Moon is the Mrithyu Bhaga and DinaMrithyu (refer Muhurtha Doshas), Ekargala Nakshatra.

Mars is in Mrithyu Sputa Nakshatra

Jupiter is in DinaMrithyu

Sun, Mercury & Rahu is in Kandakam (Muhurtha Dosha) & Ekargala Nakshatra.

Presently the Native is going through the dasa of Saturn-Ketu-Saturn.

The problem could have started in the Saturn-Ketu-Moon where Ketu-Moon specifically mentions
“aamavaatha”. This is rheumatism of the legs and the symptoms are swelling on the joints and
weakness with mild fever. The blood cancer also has very similar symptoms and hence it is easy
to mistake each other unless specific tests are done. Even in this age a large of number deaths
occur due to mistaken treatment and by the time proper diagnosis is done, it would be too late.

Though Mars is a malefic and an enemy of the Lagna Lord (it is one way enmity) Mars as such is
not a highly malefic planet in this chart. It is vargottama and placed in a friendly house and a
benefic as well. More over it is also a Kendra lord, thus turning mildly benefic too.

In Varaha Mihira says, “shubho ashubharkshe ruchiram kubhootale…”. & “andasaaraan
janayati..”

The navamsa of Moon in the Simha Rashi is very important in this case. Such a moon can
produce Anemia, Pandu roga etc according to classics.

Further,

“Rakta majja vasa maamsa asti medhaamsi paarvaty” - durga saptha sathy. Who is “parvaty” :
Parvatasya putri iti parvaty. Parvata is represented by simha. “staanam mrigendrasya tunga
desho..” So there need not be any doubt that Moon’s navamsa in the simha is fully related to the
blood and is not beneficial according Ayurveda as well.

Another indication is the Gulika Navamsa rashi (Vrischika) and Mars occupying the 7th house.
Malefics in the 7th of Navamsa rashi indicates “durmrithy” and Mars in such a position indicates
death due to fighting or war. This particular disease is a fighting staged by WBC, the protector
itself and destroying the very body in which it resides and keeps it healthy. A rebellion and
Kalidasa like character who ventured into cutting the branch in which he was sitting.

For those who look at bhava chart only, the situation is more clear.

Saturn, Moon & Gulika goes to the 12th

Venus, Mars & Rahu goes to the 4th house. Thus we can see Moon is afflicted by Gulika and
Venus & Mars afflicted by Rahu.

Thus this seems to be a case of Lymphoma or Myeloma rather than leukemia. There are
numerous factors that are closely connected. Hence a large number of cases should be studied in
relation to traditional astrology and I am confident that astrology can help in a large way to identify
the issues deeply.

There is nothing mysterious about the chart, particularly in the hands of an experienced
astrologer. Even for amatures, the proper understanding of the basic is enough to smell danger.
There are real confusing charts which even the experienced may fail to recognize unless the
Prashna chart shows otherwise.
