About the entrepreneur- Mr. Sagar Sharma

It was 24th of July and I got an appointment to meet an entrepreneur whom I contacted through
my friends. His name was Sagar Sharma who had a decent personality and was very helpful
through the whole interview process and gave me a lot of knowledge about his business.
Haryana Dairy in Uruli Kanchan is owned by Sharma family. The name of the dairy is Haryana
dairy because Haryana being their native state. When they were in Haryana they had buffaloes
and when some people came to visit their state then they saw that buffaloes were in good
condition. So they asked if they wanted to sell the buffaloes, so Mr. Chandraban Sharma being
the grandfather of Sagar Sharma agreed to sell the buffaloes and from that moment they
started the business of selling buffaloes and got many order of buffaloes from pune. So, if there
was a demand of 5000 buffaloes they used to manage. The whole Sharma family was involved
in the family business. Mr. Chandraban Sharma used to receive orders and Mr. Radha Shyam
Sharma who was the father of Sagar Sharma used to help Mr. Chandraban to manage the
account and Mr. Ramesh Sharma being the Uncle used to manage the availability of the
buffaloes and Mr. Satyawan Sharma being the uncle of Mr. Sagar Sharma used to take care of
the buffaloes at their own place before the delivery. They used to deliver the buffaloes from
Haryana to pune by truck taking 7 days and truck consisted of 10 buffaloes and freight charge
was 56000 per truck. Workers used to be there in the truck and they had to travel during at
night and during the day they had to stay at their selected areas where sheds were available for
the buffaloes and the workers used to take take out milk and they provided fodder from time
time to time. After reaching pune they used to keep buffaloes at a particular place because due
to travel time their capacity to give the exact amount of milk get reduced and they give them
rest and proper food for 3 days so that they can gain back their health and sometimes due to
climatic change for buffaloes their health gets reduced and don’t get the desired price. They
kept on doing this business for many years but later on Mr. Chandraban Sharma was suggested
by his brother to start their own selling of buffaloes in Pune. So he agreed and rented an area
with 10 buffaloes and later on increases the quality of buffaloes and started their own dairy
with 50 buffaloes and after 5 years they purchased a land of 5 acres. Their milk product is
approximately 1000 litres in morning and same amount in evening and they supply milk mainly
in 3areas Kondwa, ganeshpet and hadapsar. They have 35 workers whose current salary is
13000 per month and get bonus every Diwali. As the workers are the backbone for any business
so they need to be kept happy, so they have been provided house as per the size of their family
and on every end car is given to them to enjoy with their family.
The business is running successfully as they have big name and because of purity and there is
dudh batti where chairman is being elected by the dairy owner, so Mr. Radhashyam is the
current chairman of dudh batti who along with his 3 elected persons decides the rate of milk
every day at 8am and none can change that, the current price of warm milk on average is 56
rupees/liter and cold milk 30-35 per liter. They also produced products like Paneer, Curd, Lassi
etc. Every dairy owner have to give particular amount of milk at dudh bhatti at the present day
rate and they sell the milk to amul, cavins etc. Now Mr. Radheshyam is the chairman at dudh
bhatti and Mr. Ramesh Sharma is in Haryana and delivers buffaloes if needed for pune. Mr.
Sagar takes the responsibility for proper care of buffaloes and current earning is around 1lac
rupees per day. Now they have good contacts and have a gained name and fame because of
trusted service and purity.
