SPECIAL NOTICE
You recently received your ballot by mail for the 2018 General Election.
Due to a design error by the Pima County Elections Department, the race for Governing Board of the
Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) was not included on your ballot. State law requires that every voter
receive an accurate ballot listing all appropriate candidates. Since the ballots provided to the Recorder’s Office
by the Elections Department did not include this one race, they are required to reissue a corrected ballot, which
will be mailed out by Wednesday, October 17th.
A. You will be sent a second corrected full ballot that includes all races and issues including the
TUSD Governing Board race. If you have not yet voted the first ballot, please only vote and
return the second corrected ballot that includes the race for TUSD.
B. If you have already voted and mailed the first ballot, you have two options:
1. You may vote and return the second corrected full ballot that includes the TUSD race. Do not
just vote the TUSD race on this ballot. Mark the new ballot with all choices for any office or
propositions you wish to vote for. We have placed a hold on the first ballot so that it will not
be counted at this time in order to give you the opportunity to vote the second corrected full
ballot. If you return the second corrected ballot, that will be the one that counts.
2. If you have already voted and mailed the first ballot, and do not want to vote the second
corrected ballot, then the first ballot that you returned will be counted.
On behalf of the Pima County Elections Department we apologize for their error. Should you have any
questions concerning this, please contact the Pima County Elections Department at 520-724-6830.
