1.0 The latest revised documents shall always be used.
2.0 Any conflict between this method statement and the CPL procedure, the CPL procedure shall
be followed.
1.0 PURPOSE
This method statement will serve as a minimum guideline to carry out and complete the
loading of coalescing media for Primary and Secondary Coalescers.
2.0 SCOPE
This procedure will cover loading of coalescing media for Primary Coalescers: V-
1161A, V-1161B, V-1161C, V1161D; and Secondary Coalescer: V-1162. The coalescers
are situated in DOX skids.
4.0 MANPOWER
A mechanical foreman will control and coordinate the over-all activity for loading of
coalescer media for Primary and Secondary Coalescers. The basic crew will consist but not
limited to as follows:
Media Loaders
Rigger
Scaffolders
Helpers
Tools and equipment shall be made available to support continuous work. Tools and
equipment shall include but not limited to as follows:

6.1.1 For the amount of coalescing media to be loaded, refer to Table 1 and 2 of
pages 18/51 on the attach NATCO Startup, Maintenance, and Operating
Manual.
6.1.2 Deliver materials to staging area. Material shall be sufficient, at most, for 3
days loading works.
6.1.3 Store materials with sufficient dunnage and cover at staging area.
6.2.1 Confirm by way of Work Transfer Sheet that coalescing loading can
proceed.
6.2.2 Isolate the Primary Coalescer and Secondary Coalescer for media loading.
Refer to manufacturer’s recommendation which vavle(s) to close, and what
blinds to rotate to close position. Check and confirm isolation
6.2.4 Install ventilating fan at openings that will not be reach by media.
6.3.1 Follow closely the manufacturers method of loading the media. For
loading sequence, refer to paragraph V of attach NATCO Startup,
Maintenance, and Operating Instructions; pages 13/51 to 18/51.
6.3.2 For Primary Coalescer the media are poured and layered from bottom as
follows:
¾” x ½” Gravel
½” x ¼” Gravel
¼” x 1/8” Gravel
# 16 Garnet
# 36 Garnet
# 1.5 Anthracite Coal
For relative depth or height of layers refer to Fig 1 page 16/51; NATCO

6.3.3 For Secondary Coalescer the media are poured and layered from bottom
as follows:
¾” x ½” Gravel
½” x ¼” Gravel
¼” x 1/8” Gravel
# 16 Garnet

7.1 ARCC QC Inspector will be assigned to attend to the quality control and quality
assurance requirement of this work.
7.2 All documents attesting to the acceptability of the work will be produced by
ARCC QC Inspector and submit to CPL/United for review and approval. Refer
to ITP-XXX
8.1 Obtain the approval of the work permit from the concerned CPL/JUPC
Department before starting any work.
8.2 Fire watchers shall be at work area whenever there is hot work.
8.5 Provide warning sign and sufficient barricade on working area and only assigned
personnel will be allowed in the area.
8.6 Welding location shall be enclosed with wind barrier and provided with non-
asbestos fire blanket to prevent spread of any welding sparks.
8.7 Safety Officer shall monitor the work activities to help and to protect all assigned
workers against exposure to safety hazards. He shall ensure that Personnel
Protection Equipment (PPE’s) are supplied and used and comply with
CPL/JUPC applicable general instruction and standards.
8.8 Safety harness with double lanyards shall be used all the time when working at
elevated temporary platforms.
8.9 Manlift users shall be trained and certified to operate and use the equipment.
