AEROSOL FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM

1. System Overview
Aerosol fire suppression technology based on a potassium compound was discovered to be a superior fire
suppression technology versus gas or foam systems for many applications. The advantages of the
potassium aerosol generators were significant, including large savings in weight and space, procurement
costs, installation costs, ongoing maintenance costs and the potential for a safe, green and highly effective
fire suppression agent.

In this project, 10 Rooms are protected by aerosol Fire Suppression System. STAT – X (U.S.A) is the
Aerosol manufacturer and POTTER (U.S.A) is the Fire Detection system Used.

2. How it works
Upon activation, the STAT -X transforms into a rapidly expanding highly efficient and effective fire
suppression condensed aerosol that is distributed evenly in the protected enclosure using the momentum
developed in the transformation process. In contrast to the traditional fire extinguishing methods
(gaseous or fire sprinkler systems), the fire is extinguished predominately by interrupting the chemical
chain reactions in the flame as per the tetrahedron of fire, without depleting oxygen
System Layout

2.1 Operation of the System.

I. AUTOMATIC OPERATION:

A) Activation of any one of the detector in Either zone circuit within the affected area;

1. Illuminate "alarm" indicator led of the control panel first zone

2. Energize alarm bell (1st stage alarm).
3. Send alarm signal to main fire alarm control panel &B.M.S

B) Subsequent operation of a "cross-zoned" Detector within the affected area;

1. Illuminate “alarm" indicator led of control panel first& second zone

2. Flashing "pre-discharge" indicator led on the control panel.
3. Activate strobe/horn (2nd stage alarm) & illuminate warning sign
4. Send second alarm signal to main fire alarm control panel &B.M.S
5. Count Down For Discharge Starts, (30 sec)

C) After pre-set time delay sequence (30 sec), the following will occur;

1. Actuate circuit to release STAT-X (Aerosol) into the affected area.

2. Illuminate "release" indicator on the control panel.

II. MANUAL OPERATION:

Activation of manual release station will duplicate the "cross-zoned detection" sequence described
above except time delay and abort functions.

Manual actuation aerosol generator will immediately release the extinguishing agent into the protected
area and duplicate the sequence-c described above.
