mEGGi (Manual For EKSA – GO GREEN Implementation)

1. Problem Background
Secondary School personnel not have proper guideline for them to create conducive
classroom. At the same time, Principal of schools not given any information and
training of how to manage the conducive learning classroom except the i-THINK
classroom layout. Conducive learning environment in classroom is very important in
order for the teachers and students to get the maximum benefits from teaching and
learning process.

2. Problem Analyses/ Need Analyses

We distribute questionnaire by using google form to our respondents. Our respondents


are limited to secondary school teachers only. The questionnaire divided to 2 sections.
Sections 1 is demography and sections 2 have 9 items to identify the problem.

Section 1 : Demography

Our respondents involved 9 females and 22 males. The races involved 25 (Malays), 2
(Chinese) and others. The age range from 20 – 30 (19.4%), 31-40 (77.4%) and 41-50
(3.2%).

Based on the findings of the data analysis using SPSS version 22, less practice of EKSA
among teachers in schools with a mean (3.52) and the schools do not have the user manual
EKSA implementation in schools, the mean (3.81). Through EKSA practice, it can provide a
positive impact on the cleanliness of the classroom/office with a mean (4.58) and
implementation practices EKSA will increase the overall productivity of the organization,
(4:42).

3. Objective of mEGGi
 Guideline for the Principles in school
 Guideline for the teachers in school to manage the class
 Guideline for students to help teachers manage the class
 Guideline for students to manage the class without teacher’s supervision

4. Literature Review
Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) has
introduced the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) starting January 2014. The
rebranding initiative is EKSA Public Sector 5S Practice practiced over the years by
taking into account the need to highlight the quality work environment conducive to
more relevant to the departments / agencies of the public sector in Malaysia. Generally,
the main component in the implementation of 5S EKSA still based on improved while
adding some new elements. EKSA not intended to replace the 5S concept practiced
before, otherwise improve the 5S element to support the creation of a more conducive
working environment. In summary, 5S improved through EKSA by adding five new
elements, namely Corporate Image, Creativity and Innovation, Going Green, a
Conducive Environment and Diversity Agency is involved in the public sector.
According to Noor (2016), in general, practices and certification EKSA believed to
enhance not only the quality of service and even the identity, image and motivations of
public universities as a whole.

Indeed, the management of the work environment is a mechanism of quality control


management proved its effectiveness in creating a comfortable environment, conducive
and safe. Thus, the performance of duties by members of the organization will be more
efficient and indirectly adds value to an organization. According to Hafiz (2018),
Vocational College Beaufort see EKSA as a good platform to improve and provide a
conducive working atmosphere, safe and systematic. Therefore, in order to implement
EKSA Vocational College Beaufort require high and consistent commitment of its
citizens to ensure EKSA can be cultivated.

5. Solution
Provide an easy way (mEGGi). The first benefit of this manual will give high marks of
evaluation of school performance (SKPMg2 – Standard Kualiti Pendidikan Malaysia
gelombang 2). The second benefits will be ensuring the practice of Continuously Quality
Improvement. The third benefit is to encourage the development of creative idea and
innovation. Last but not least will foster the teamwork spirit within school environment.
This manual also can help the school community to cultivate the culture of conducive
environment. Lastly, this manual also can help increase the Go Green awareness among
them.
