ROLEPLAY ABOUT VITAL SIGN

CAST :

Nurse : Aristiani

Patient : Eva

A 24 years old patient named Mrs. Eva must be hospitalized beacuse of a fever that
had not gone down since 2 days ago. In the morning, the nurse come to checked Mrs. Eva’s
vital signs for a routine check so that the medication known to reduce her fever worked well
or not.

Nurse : “Good morning, Mrs.”

Patient : “Good morning, nurse.”

Nurse : “Forgive me because i disturb your rest time. I’m nurse Aris who on duty
today from 8 am till 2 pm. Sorry mrs, may i know your name?”

Patient : “My name is Eva nurse.”

Nurse : “Okay mrs. Eva do your remember your date of birth?”

Patient : “Yes, i was born on August, 3th 1994.”

Nurse : “May i see your brackelet?”

Patient : ‘Sure, nurse.”

Nurse : “Okay it’s already same. So i come here to check your vital sign such as
blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and your pulse. Maybe i need 12 minutes to
checked. Are you willing?”

Patient : “Yes, i am willing Nurse.”

Nurse : “Before that, what do you feel now mrs? Do you want to asking or complain
about something?”
Patient : “Same as before, nurse. But it’s more better than yesterday. I won’t to ask
anything nurse.”

Nurse : “Okay. So, now i will start to check your vital sign.

Patient : “yes Nurse.”

After that, the nurse wash her hand and prepare the thermometer. She cleaned the
thermomoter with an alcohol.

Nurse : “Okay mrs, first i will check you temperature. So i will put the thermometer
in your arm. Before that, let me cleaned your arm.”

Patient : “Sure nurse.”

Nurse : ‘Okay, i already put the thermometer in your arm. We will waiting untill it
rings.”

Patient : “I hope my temperature is normal. Because i wanna go home, i have too

much duty”

Nurse : “I hope so, Mrs. If you feel your body still hot, we will do a laboratorium test
to know what happened with you. So mrs, while we waiting i will check your blood pressure
on your another hand.”

Patient : “Just do it, nurse.”

Nurse : “If you feel the pain, you can tell me mrs.”

Patient : “I will,”

Nurse : “Okay mrs. Your blood preassure is normal on 120/70 mmhg. And also your
temperature is 38o C its more better than yesterday.”

Patient : “38? Is it dangerous for me Nurse?”

Nurse : “No mrs. It was normal. So don’t worry about it.”

Nurse : “So now i will check your pulse and respiration. I hope you rileks and enjoy.
Please be cooperate.”

Patient : “Okay i will.”

Nurse : “Okay. Your pulse is normal on 80x/minutes. And also your respiration
16x/minutes.”

Patient : “Is it good for me?”

Nurse : “Of course. Your pulse and respiration is normal mrs. The normal pulse is
between 60-80x/minutes. And the normal respiration between 12-20x/minutes.”

Patient : ‘Oh thanks god. But i think my temperature still high because its 38o C.”

Nurse : “Hm that’s right mrs. Because in the first day your temperature was high.
And today’s result more better than yesterday. I hope everything will be okay. Don’t worry.
Maybe you can do a laboratory test to know more about your condition.”

Patient : “Yes you’re right nurse. I will do that test to know about my condition.”

Nurse : “So i have done to do my duty in here. What do you feel now?”

Patient : “I feel same as before nurse. “

Nurse : “Okay mrs. So do you have any question?”

Patient : “No nurse, its enough.”

Nurse : “Okay mrs. If there is no question, i will back to nurse station. If you need a
help, you can press the bell or you can ask your family to come to nurse station.”

Patient : “Okay nurse, thank you for your attention.”

Nurse : “You’re welcome mrs. Good morning.”

Patient : “Good morning”
