NOTIFICATION

National Level Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Campaignon the theme "Letter to
my motherland/ "Mere Desh ke Nam Khat" for the year 2018.

This year Department of Posts is organising the Dhai Akhar letter Writing Campaign
which will start from 15-06-2018 and the last date for posting letters under Dhai Akhar
letter Writing Campaign will be 31.10.2018. letters posted after 31.10.2018 will not be
accepted for this Dhai Akhar letter Writing Campaign. A scanned copy of the letter can also
be submiited on the My Gov portal latest by 31.10.2018.However, it is compulsory that a
hard copy of the letter bearing dispatch postmark of not later than 31.1O.2018be sent by
post. The details of Dhai Akhar letter Writing Campaign to be held at National level are as
under:

I. Theme: The theme of the Dhai Akhar letter Writing Campaign will be "letter to my
motherland / "Mere desh ke Nam Khat" inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's "Amar
Desher Mati'. The letter, to be written in English/Hindi/local language, may be
addressed to Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar-751001. The
categories for National level Dhai Akhar letter Writing Campaign are as follows:
(i) Up to 18 years: -
(a) Inland letter Card Category
(b) Envelope Category
(ii)Above 18 years: -
(a) Inland letter Card Category
(b) Envelope Category

II. Word Limit: The letter can be written on plain A-4 size paper with a word limit of
not more than 1000 words under envelope category, or in an Inland letter Card (llC) with a word
limit of not more than 500 words for IlC category. Only handwritten letters will be accepted.

III. Permitted Stationery: The embossed envelope / envelope with required stamp
affixed and Inland letter Card (llC) will be the permitted stationery for participating
in the campaign.
IV. The letter, in case of rural areas may be brought to the local BO and posted. The
BOs will dispatch it to their respective Account Office (HO/SO) duly entered in
Account Bagfor further dispatch to concerned Circle Office.
 V. Shortlist;ng: Top three letters in each category will be shortJisted by every Circle and
prize will be awarded to these three entries at circle level. The selected letters at
Circle level wi" be sent to the Directorate for further evaluation in each category at
the National Level.

VI. Prizes: The proposed prize money to be given to the winners of Circle Level and
National Level Letters in each category are as follows:

Vii. Proof of Age: The participants have to give a certificate of proof of their age on the
letter such as "I certify that I am Below/above the age of 18 as on 01.01.2018. In case of
winning letters, the age and other ID certificates wi" be verified by the Circle.
