Employment Visa
To undertake full-time employment in Germany a work permit/visa is needed. The visa, which is granted
initially for a period of up to three months by the Consulate General, permits the holder to enter Germany. It is
extended by the competent Foreigners' Registration Office ('Ausländerbehörde') when the person duly
registers himself/herself within the first three months of his/her stay in Germany.
Completed visa application form and documentation are sent by the visa section to the competent German
authority ('Ausländerbehörde') for final approval. The applicant is informed within 6-8 weeks, whether or not a
visa may be issued. The Visa can be issued by the Consulate General only after completion of this
procedure.
All Indian applicants must submit following documents for a visa for the purpose of working in Germany:

After the approval from the competent German authority ('Ausländerbehörde') is received (within 6-8 weeks),
