The above matter refers

We had previously intimated that we aoticipate to pay employees and Councillors

benefi1S on or before 30 October 2018. This commitment was made on the
strength of unde1takings made on application for the release of our equitable
share. We have to date still not received the anticipated transfer of funds from
Nalioaal Treasw·y. We have further nol received any fonnal notification on our
application and the status of lbe processing of our application. We are therefore
in a position of unce1tainty and inability to provide any indication of when we
anticipate to complete the salary run.

We arc writiog to all employees and Councillors to express oui· regret for this
delay and the inconvenience this has caused you. We appreciate the patience and
understanding you have shown during this period, and have been hwnbled by
your continued hard work, commitment and effort on behalf of the municipality
in the face of the cun-ent problems.
