Performance Notes

'Jump' is essentially one gesture: a slow expressivo cello duet full of tension, counterposed by a
relentless keyboard/piano part.

The phrasing marks for the cellos are to indicate that the lines should be thought of as very long lines.
The phrasing marks for the keyboard/piano indicate that each group of notes should be played as a group,
i.e. with a slight emphasis on the first note; but each tone should be clearly articulated so that the keyboard
part has a percussive quality.

Notation

The keyboard/piano part uses a reduced notation to help the performer. Each figure is presented, followed
by repetition signs. The number of those signs indicate how many times the figure should be repeated.
