Moore Elementary School 1061 Lewisburg Pike Franklin, Tennessee 37064 615-790-4700 November 2, 2018 Dear Parents, Through our guidance program we teach gun safety which instructs children when they see a gun: Stop; Don't touch; Run away; Tell a grown up. As a public school, we do not advocate for or against gun ownership. Just as we teach children the life-saving skills of how to respond to an intruder, or what to do in the event ofa fire, our only objective in teaching the gun safety lesson is to let them know what to do in the event they come across one in their home or the homes they may visit. On December 6, immediately following our PTO meeting, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense is hosting a Be SMART presentation for our parent community. The program educates communities on how to prevent child access to guns and reduce the number of unintentional child shootings.
