Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts

Intended for Second Year High School Students

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

1. identify Kabuki as a theatrical art form of Japan,


2. design a kumadori mask using coloring materials,
3. manifest camaraderie among members in making a kumadori mask.

II. Subject Matter

Main Topic: Festival and Theater art of Japan


Sub Topic: Kabuki
Reference: Grade 8 Music and Arts of Asia Learners Module
Materials: Pictures, Masks and Coloring materials

III. Procedure

A. Daily Routine

Let’s all stand for our opening prayer. (The student will rise)

B. Review

Okay. Before we start our topic for today. We


will have a review.
What is our topic last meeting? It’s about Peking Opera.
What is the two main role in Peking Opera? Sheng and Dan

Okay. Good!
What are the characters of Sheng? Xiaosheng, Wusheng and Laosheng

Now, What are the characters of Dan? Laodan, Wudan, Daomadan, Qingy and Huadan

Correct!

Last. What are the secondary role in Peking Jing and Chou sir!
Opera?

C. Motivation

Class we are going to play a game! Are you


familiar with the game 4pics and 1 word? Yes sir!
