Hola a todos,

I hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of family time (or sleep) today! Thank you to
all the parents who helped to coordinate all the candy goodies that came in last
week- our “emergency treat” drawer is stocked :).

Please share this week’s contraseña secreta (secret password) with your child:
“¿Puedo ir al baño?” (May I please go to the bathroom?).

GO PATS!

A peek at our week  In Spanish Language Arts/Reading students will continue
to memorize the letters and sounds in the Spanish
alphabet. We will also learn more about good, independent
reading habits. Even students who aren’t quite ready to
read words yet, are learning how to use photographs and
pictures to figure out what the story is about!

In Math, students are learning new vocabulary (greater
than/less than/more/less) about how to compare different
numbers. Students will also apply counting strategies to
consider “how many more/how many less” two different
groups of objects have.

In Science, students will continue to learn new vocabulary
related to weather. Our class meteorologist will continue to
help up collect data on Wayland’s weather and we will learn
about new weather tools.

Looking ahead  We are excited to invite all parents/families to our first

classroom Open House, D ecember 5th from 8:30-9:00 AM.
Mark your calendars!

Our new Friday STEAM center “crear” (create) was a hit this
past Friday! We are looking forward to welcoming more
parent volunteers into our classroom!

Next week, we will start celebrating and learning more
about our classmates with “el/la amigo/a de la semana”
(friend of the week). Your child will have one week to
complete a poster with drawings and pictures about
themselves to share with the class. I will share an example
with you and give you notice when it is your child’s turn!

I will submit another class book order with Scholastic Book
Club on -----. Please order online using class code MD2RM.
Per parent request, I do have a wishlist you are welcome to
check out! Gracias!

¡Ayuda por favor!   I am looking for a large jump rope for an outdoor activity
(think double dutch). Please let me know if you have one at
home we can borrow!
