 Performance Task Assessment

1. Structured
a. Read a book and in a group of 2-3 people, share 5-8 capitalizations,
commas and punctuation marks that you see.
2. Naturally occurring
a. Every time students write in the class, they will have to have punctuation,
right spelling, capitalization and commas.
3. Longer term
a. Be able to write a paragraph consisting of 3-5 sentences, at the end of
the school year. The paragraph should include correct punctuation marks,
correct placement of commas, correct capitalization and correct spelling.
b. Collect all the writing works that have been done in class and check for
correct punctuation marks, correct placement of commas, correct
capitalization and correct spelling.
c. Writing journal that they can write on for 5 minutes a day. I will make
sure to write a rubric for the students.
4. Simulations
a. Be able to write and perform a reader’s theater. Students should be able
to write a 2-minute reader’s theater script using the include correct
punctuation marks, correct placement of commas, correct capitalization
and correct spelling.
