via a compressor. The vapour is absorbed in the absorp-
tion unit and then released in the desorption unit with the
addition of thermal heat. The only mechanical part in the Product Range
system is the solution pump that runs the solution cycle.

Maintenance

Low maintenance is a major aspect of the ARP, due to

the fact that it has very few rotating components.
Therefore, the ARP has a low noise level and operates
practically vibration free. Compared to compressor driven
machines, the ARP is almost maintenance free.

Absorption Refrigeration Plants Cold Production With Thermal Energy

In General

Thermal Energy can be used in Absorption Refrigeration

Plants (ARP) to produce cold with temperatures down
to - 60 0C.
A conventional Compression Refrigeration Plant (CRP)
uses electricity to produce cold, while an ARP can be
powered by hot water, LP steam, exhaust gas or other
residual heat sources.

The Tri-Generation Concept

The Tri-Generation concept provides an opportunity to

generate Power, Heat and Cold at the same time, being
independant of the grid. With this concept, residual heat
from the CHP is used as power source for the ARP.
This results in a significant saving in power consumption,
increases total plant efficiency and contributes to the
reduction in CO2 emission.

In other words, a CHP in combination with an ARP is the

optimal combination from the energy saving and environ-
mental point of view. ARP-M10 at the Stork workshop
