 Read counting book. After every page the children counted together up to the
number you were on.

 Sang song about five pumpkins


 Went over repeatedly counting to five on screen
 Called on individuals to trace the numbers on the smart board for others
 “What shape is the pumpkin?”
 Next had shapes on screen. You went over each with class.
 Then you called individuals up to trace shapes that you called out.
 Used empty pumpkin on smart board for students to draw a jack o lantern face
 Had small pumpkins on the floor that students had decorated and they counted them
in the floor as a class then you showed them how they could be moved around on
the floor to make different shapes. Great idea. High level thinking for their age!
