•Tell the students that we are going to begin to talk about what life would be like in France.
Explain to students that France is similar and also different than the United States.

•Read students the book All About France. (Gardner, Verbal/Linguistic) Have a grand
discussion with the students. Ask, “In what ways is France the same/different than the
United States?” (Bloom, Comprehension) “Would you like to live in France? Why or
why not?” (Bloom, Evaluation)

•Break the students up into groups. (Gardner, Interpersonal) Assign each group a
different topic i.e The Louvre, The Eiffel Tower etc. Tell the students that they are going to
learn more about that specific topic.

•Explain the assignment to students. Each group is going to research about the topic that
they were assigned. Students will need to gather information and create a poster with three
facts about their topic. (Gardner, Visual/Spatial) (Bloom, Synthesis) The poster also
needs to include a picture of the topic as well as any other interesting information that the
pair discovered during their research. Give the students a copy of the assignment sheet and
rubric (see attached) for their reference throughout the project.

•Give students approximately 45 minutes to meet with their groups and work on their
poster.
•Students will do a gallery walk, and then present their topic and share their posters.
•At the end of the lesson, have students turn in their posters and assess
