Social Studies Lesson 10/30

They are talking about the Lost Colony. She read an excerpt from a text book and built off of
that. She read the story of the Lost Colony to the students. She told them that they should have
a blank page in their notebook that is titled “Lost Colony”

-1587 Colonists settled on Roanoke Island

-They built houses
-John White left, and when he returned everyone was gone.
-The word CROATOAN was carved on a tree

They will be gathering details to try and solve the mystery of the Lost Colony.

Tomorrow they will be going on a scavenger hunt online off of her website to try and decide
what they think happened to the Lost Colony.
