SUPER LUSTERSHIELD - MICA

WHITEGMC Super LusterShield basecoat/clearcoat is now available with a unique new
look known as mica or pearl. Mica is a mineral of multicolors most popular in the cos-
metic industry in eye shadow. The radii on a truck cab coated with mica basecoat will
reflect light differently when viewed in direct sunlight at various angles. Metallic
basecoats, until now, have contained aluminum particles ground to a specific size and
suspended in the paint film to achieve a sparkling appearance. Mica or pearl flakes,
when substituted for aluminum, enhance the dramatic "flip flop" effect in variety of col-
ors.

The application or repair procedure is identical to any other basecoat/clearcoat finish.

Because of the depth of the finish desired and the unusual effect on the white mica,
hiding is not as good as with other colors. At this time, we are recommending a ground
coat of white (36-35689) under the basecoat (36-38200) for more even coverage.

Listed below are the three new mica basecoats and their respective mixing formulas
available from your Sherwin-Williams supplier.

parts reducer, 1 part hardener.
