Content Standard 2.3 : By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to read independently for information and enjoyment.

Learning objectives By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. Respond to the short story read by creating a picture book using the Storybird application.

Activity: 1. Teacher shows a sample short storybook.


Pre-lesson 2. Teacher presents its storyline, characters, theme based on the said book.
While-lesson 1. Pupils read their short story.
2. Pupils list down the details of the book i.e. the title, author, illustrator, publisher.
3. Pupils share with their partner on their understanding of the short story by presenting the sequence of event, characters and
characteristics, and moral value/s of the story.
4. Pupils begin their brainstorming on the story using storyboard (Ithink map, word list, dictionary).
5. For the task, pupils are allowed to change the characters, setting, theme of the original story or they can choose to write a new
story all together (improvisations).
6. Pupils do peer editing by showing their work to another pair using a given checklist.
7. Teacher gives feedback on their work.
8. Teacher introduces Storybird and demonstrates how to use it.
9. Pupils explore and use Storybird to create their own picture book based on the improvisations above.
10. Pupils present their work to the class.
11. Teacher provides feedback.
12. Pupils publish and share their storybook via the school’s official Facebook.

Post-lesson 1. Pupils are asked which storybook they like and what are their reasons.
2. Pupils talk about their work and what they have learned from the activity (reflection).
3. Teacher provides feedback on their reflections.
4. Teacher wraps up the session by telling them what they have gone through in the lesson (cognitive closure).
5. Teacher compliments their effort/work ethics/teamwork/creativity/participation (social closure).
