1. Cooperation Being able to cooperate with other is extremely, important especially when working in groups as good
communication skill can ultimately benefit all organisation. I believe that my cooperation skills are quite good
however, I am fully aware that I lack on some areas and it is crucial for me to improve on them. Especially
because I intend to gain a successful job as a marketing manager in the future for a successful company. In order to
achieve a high status my communication skill must be extremely, good. In order to improve o my skill I can start
to get out of my comfort zone and start communicating with different kinds of individuals who have different
personalities as this will allow me to understand on how to react and response with certain types of individuals and
receive a positive response.

My plan for taking in notes and using sources of information is also, fairly good. As I have shown in previous
2. Study Skills months that both my primary research and secondary research is quite effective as I can find all sorts of
information by doing some effective researching. I have used the data collected from researching very effectively,
by using them for my assignments. I also, take down notes during lessons from my tutors and use them for
assignments as it is similarly effective as the information that can be found online or books. However, I am aware
that I can often struggle on using sources of information as I do not find some useful data at time. Therefore, in
order improve I could spend more time on researching rather than not using my time effectively.

3. Meeting Deadlines It is very important to meet deadline depending on what sort of task it is. I believe that I am quite good with my
time management therefore, I do not struggle on meeting deadline that often. For example, for my previous
assignments in College I have met deadlines because if I did not hand in my assignments in time there would be
consequences. Similarly, it is very important for a person working in the marketing department to finish projects
before the deadline time. If not then there would be consequences that they would have to face. For example, they
may make the client unhappy which can lead to a bad reputation and if it is very serious then the individual may be
dismissed from the workplace. Therefore, it is very important that I use my time effectively so that I can produce
good quality work and finish my projects in time of the final deadline.
Section 2: Providing Evidence you have the Skills

COMMUNICATION

Communication may be formal or informal, personal or impersonal, creative or factual. Messages may be delivered verbally, in writing or
non-verbally. There are many areas where examples of each communication approach may have been successfully applied, at university, at
work, at home, etc

Written -

Over the years I have produced a fairly good amount of work where I have shown toi my teachers and myself that I can produce some good
written work both formal and informal. For example, in School I have used formal writing during my GCSE exams whether it was an essay or an
assignment I have produced formal written work. Similarly I have used formal writing for my assignments in College because it is essential that
I must use formal writing instead of informal. I have also, written my CV in good formal structure due to the fact that if it was informal then
employees may not even consider to read the CV as it is not laid out in a professional manner. My personal statement that I have wrote for
University is also, written in formal language due to the fact that I must show professionalism to them similarly I must to the same for the
application form that I will need to fill in for a University as it is extremely important. For all sorts of application it is crucial that it is filled out
in a formal structure in order for the application form to be taken seriously and even considered by the employee. Similarly, if you are writing an
application form to gain sponsorship you must write the form in a formal manner so that the organisation know that you are a professional
individual/organisation who can be trusted.

Similarly, I have also, shown to my tutors and teachers that I have the ability to use informal language effectively. For example, making a poster
informal can be quite effective if you intend to promote a certain product or an event in order to attract the targeted audience as it initially shows
the audience that the organisation is seeking to bond with them and make a relationship with them. Similarly, I have created poster for
assignments where I was told to produce a poster to promote an organisation. In order to be effective I has decided to use a slightly, informal
approach I knew that it is more likely to appeal to the audience rather that a long formal poster as it may not be as interesting as a poster with an
informal approach. Similarly, when contacting new friends/old friends it is not necessary to use a formal tone to communicate with them as
many people do communicate informally with their peers.

When emailing certain people or organisation you must most likely be writing in a formal manner due to the fact that the masiling platform is
usually used for work purpose rather than a socialising media platform. Therefore, it is more useful to mail in a formal tone especially when you
are mailing an organisation for a job role or emailing tutors regarding class work. I always use formal writing when emailing due to the fact that
I only use Email to get in contact with people who are not my friends.

Verbal:
Informal​ – ability to network easily with other people

While socializing with my friends and family I always talk informally as it is a natural way for me to talk as I have been influenced by other
around me to talk in an informal manner as it is the normal way to communicate with everyone. Similarly, when socializing verbally via the
phone with the family and friends I would also, talk in an informal manner as it is a way that I am comfortable talking in as I personally find it a
more of an similar way of communicating.

Formal – ​ability to express self clearly and concisely to a group​ of p​ eople

When doing presentation in College to students in class or to head of sectors about a certain topic I strictly communicate with a formal tone in
order to appear as a professional individual towards them. Similarly, I have verbally communicated in past interviews in a formal manner as it
ultimately allows me to present myself as an individual who can be taken seriously and it can make me stand out in front of my interviewer.
Speaking formally is also, a way of showing respect towards the interviewer as it shown that I do not consider them as my friend but instead as a
an individual who is professional.

Non-verbal:​

I am also, aware of the importance of having good listening skills as it can ultimately benefits me to complete tasks and to gain some knowledge.
For example, being attentive during lectures is very important as it is a great situation to receive some useful knowledge and take advantage by
taking down notes which can allow you to essentially put notes in good use. I have shown some good listening skills myself during lessons and
taken down notes which ultimately, helped me complete certain assignments due to the fact that I had some useful notes written down.
It is very important to be attentive when working in groups so that you know exactly, what your job role is and also, allows you to clearly
understand what the groups motive is and what they intend to accomplish. Listening is also, very important when you intend to learn a new skill
for example, learning how to play football or how to play a Guitar you must show good listening skill so that it essentially becomes much more
quicker for you to become more of an effective player who maintains the right amount of knowledge on how to play Football or how to play the
Guitar.
Body Language​ – ability to match body language appropriately to what is being said verbally

I believe that I have a quite good depth knowledge on body language and I myself can use bodylanguange effectively depending on the situation.
For example, while giving a presentation it is very important that I face the audience and not on the Projector I must also , present myself in a
professional manner by standing up straight and using hand gestures. Similarly, in a workplace it is important to be professional by using body
language effectively, by facing them and giving them full attention. However, when socializing my body language is fairly, different as I would
give eye contact to them to show my peer that I am interested however, I will not look in their eyes for a long period as it will make them feel a
bit uncomfortable after a bit. I would also, face them so that it shows that I am giving them the full attention and I am being attentive.

WORKING WITH OTHERS

Working with others is a skill highly valued by employers. Suitable evidence for this skill need not be limited to work experience. You should
think of all aspects of your work, studies and social life.

Cooperation - ​Ability to collaborate effectively within a team

I have gained good cooperation skills quite steadily over the years as I have quite often been involved in group projects with a various amounts
of people who are different than each other. For example, I have worked in groups during my School years as I have had to do tasks with the
group that I have asked to work with. Similarly, I have worked in projects in College where I have worked with different types of individuals
who have different personalities. I have also, been involved in team games such as Football, Basketball and Cricket where I was in groups with
people who have a different personality to me. This was a great way of learning how to cooperate with different kinds of individual.

Negotiation - ​Ability to reach a mutually satisfactory outcome through compromise

There has been many occasions in my life where I have had to do constant negotiation in order to either get what I wanted or to reach a mutual
agreement. Negotiating with people is quite common for me as I tend to do it on a daily basis. As I have negotiated with my Parents quite often
regarding a numerous amount of problems. Similarly, I have had to negotiate while working in groups or while trying to purchase an item from a
seller. However, negotiation can not always go the way you wanted therefore, it is important to try and come up with a mutual agreement which
will ultimately benefit both parties.
Sensitivity​​- ​Ability to respond appropriately to individual differences, e.g., age, gender, etc.

I am fairly good with responding appropriately, towards individuals who have differences as I have been working and cooperating with
individual who have differences to me nearly, all of my life. For example, while I was studying in school there was many people who had
numerous of differences compared to. For example, different age, gender and personality. However, I have learned how to communicate with
different individual and what sorts of responses I am likely to receive from them.

Leadership - ​Ability to encourage and motivate others

I have shown some basic understanding of how to encourage and motivate other. For example during school I would quite often be the captain of
a Football team. This meant that I had to encourage and motivate my team players in order to make them play their best and perform to a good
standard. This meant that I motivate them by praising them verbally as this would make them feel better and encourage them to play even more
better. Furthermore, while being a captain meant that I had to co-ordinate certain tactics therefore, by praising the players made them want to
follow my instructions more better.

APPLICATION OF NUMBER

Calculations - ​Ability to use a calculator or PC to make calculations

I have shown myself over the years that I can use a Calculator quite effectively, and I have proven this during my Maths exams in GCSE where I
had an exam where they allowed me to use my calculator due to the fact that many of the questions required to use of a Calculator. Furthermore,
I have also, used Calculator on a PC numerous of times. For example, for my assignments where I had to count up the data that was provided via
Computer which meant that I had to use the PC calculator to help me find the answer.

Interpretation - - ​Ability to interpret descriptive statistics, e.g. ratios percentages, means, standard deviations

I have a strong knowledge on how to do ratios and find out a percentage as I do this every time I work at my workplace. as I need to work out
percentages of prices when I give discounts to our customers. I have also, used ratios in the past when I did my GCSE maths exams as there was
quite a few questions where I had to show that I can do ratios.

Application -​Ability to organize and present numerical data in an appropriate manner

Previously, I have shown that I can use numerical data in an appropriate manner. For example, while studying for GCSE maths in lessons I
would constantly, be dealing with numerical data. This allowed me to gain more understanding on how to deal with numbers and gave me a
more depth knowledge. Currently I am working in a business where I have to constantly, deal with customers purchases products from the
business. This ultimately, means that I have to deal with the transactions made therefore, it is very crucial that I do not make an error and deal
with the right amount of money.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

File Management Techniques - ​Ability to create, store and retrieve files

There has been a numerous of occasions where I have used saved files and print out documents therefore, I believe that I have quite a good
knowledge on how to deal with creating files and printing them out. I have also, used Shipley College network and clearly, understood on how to
use the network. I did not struggle due to the fact that I have used my previous schools network therefore, I had a clear insight on how to use
Shipley College network effectively.

Word Processing​​ - ​Ability to use a word processing package to produce a variety of formats of documents

Over my academic years I have used Microsoft Word quite frequently as I have had to produce work using this software. For example I have
used Microsoft Word to do homework, and posters. Microsoft Word is fairly a good software if you intend to write quite a lot of information
therefore, I have also, made my CV via Microsoft Word also, wrote long assignments in previous years using Microsoft Word. However,
currently I am using Google drive more frequently. .

Spreadsheets​​ - A

I have quite a good depth knowledge on how to use spreadsheets on both Microsoft and Google. Due to the fact that I have studied Business for
four years which meant that I have had to use spreadsheets quite often this allowed me the chance to gain knowledge on how to use the software
by producing graphs, using formulas and how to calculate through spreadsheets. Currently, I have an assignment where I am commanded to use
spreadsheets as a task through Google sheets which is similar to Microsoft spreadsheets therefore, this was not hard for me to adapt on using
Google sheets.

Databases​​ - A

I have some knowledge on how to use databases as I can view reports, and use tables. I can also, create tables and design queries. on either
mIcrosoft or Google. However, I do not maintain a well depth knowledge on how wo to do certain tasks using databases. For example, I am not
aware of how to use macros, I do believe that with a few more lessons I would gain some more knowledge on how to use databases on a more
well depth way.

Presentations​​ -​ Ability to create and display a PowerPoint presentation

I have created presentations many times during my academic years through powerpoints for classes as I have been previously assigned to do so. I
can successfully create a presentation using powerpoint or by using Google slides due to the fact that I have only used these softwares
previously. I can also, use graphical images for my powerpoint presentation as I have well depth knowledge on how to do so. However, I am not
familiar on how to put moving images on a powerpoint due to the fact that I have not been told to do so before.

Information and Communication​​ - ​Ability to send and receive email

I am fairly, familiar on how to use webmail such as gmail and outlook due to the fact that I have been using web mail for a numerous of
significant years now. This has allowed me the chance to explore more about the websites and find out new ways of using the webmails.
However, I have never used window based email such as Pegasus.

Ability to send and receive attachments as email


Previously I have forwarded CV to an employer many times over the years either through Indeed or through company website. However, i have
not sent my CV to an employee by hand due to the fact that i have believed that it is more effective on sending CV via online. I have also,
forwarded coursework to my tutors online via Google classroom from the Shipley College network which i have made myself familiar with over
the first year. However, I have never forwarded my coursework through emails to my tutors.

Ability to download files from the internet and transfer to WP

I do not maintain a great experience on downloading files from the web to a word document. However, I have downloaded a few application
forms from the web in order to complete the application form I have also, downloaded course notes from the web in order to help me read the
notes. However, I have never downloaded past exam papers

PROBLEM SOLVING

Creativity - ​Ability to generate new ideas or conceive existing ideas in a new way

I believe that I am quite a creative individual who has shown the creativity over time. For example, I have produced many presentation which
have been displayed in a very eye catching manner I have also, produced many poster and leaflets which were being created to promote products
in a very unique way which was intended to create attention.
Organisation and Planning - ​Ability to set down a systematic sequence of activities and carry them through in an effective manner

During GCSE I had many subjects which I had to revise for. This had made me quite stressed. Therefore, in order to solve the problem I decided
to create coloured revision cards for each of my subjects. This was very helpful for me as it made revising much more easier and fun. It also,
allowed me to understand the key facts of certain subject. I believe that using the revision cards helped me pass my exams during the GCSeS

Research - ​Ability to gather information in a systematic way to establish certain facts or principles

I believe that my researching skills are fairly good when it comes to researching online. I have shown this many times during my assignments as
I have been able to produce useful article and journals which support points that I have previously made in my past assignments. I have also,
good research skills when it comes to my personal choices. For example I have done good research on University to find out which University is
suitable for my liking. Also, I can go quite deep with researching which I believe is quite effective and it makes my researching skill even more
stronger.

I summarize and understand information online on quite a regular basis for my assignments. Due to the fact that their are3 many articles online
which can essentially assist me on completing my assignment. Therefore, in order to put them on use I would initially read the article then
summarize it on my own word which ultimately allows me to use them for my assignments.

Self Management

I believe that I am fairly confident on expressing myself. However, it also, depends on my moods and the situation I am in because at timers I
can feel unconfident in expressing myself due to my mood and atmosphere. Therefore, I do believe that I do need to work on my self-confidence
due to the fact that I am aware of the importance of maintain confidence as it allows an individuals to ultimately express themselves and receive
a response.

I do regularly, review my progress by checking the tracker in order to analyse on what situation I am currently in and what I need to achieve to
get the grade that I intend to get end of the year. This allows me to get a clear insight of what my targets are and what my short-term goals are as
well. I do believe that I do put in time and effort for my assignments in order to achieve the grade that I intend to get.

My current career plan is to finish College with good grades and then achieve a place in University studying Business marketing and
management. I would also, like to get a part-time job for an organisation in the marketing department whilst I study in University so that I can
gain first hand experience of how the industry works and whether it is something that I like.

Reasoning skills​​ – ​ability to defend argument using logical and systematic thinking based on sound evidence
If I am participating in an debate then I would always do some effective research in order to support my argument. If I am feeling passionate
about the argument then I would go in very depth research. This could be via books, articles or an interview. Therefore, when it is time to have
the debate I will be prepared to defend the argument with valid point and I will be ready to answer all of the concerns from the opposition party.

Reflection​​ – ​ability to reflect on and critique own performance


I always make good use of feedback from my teachers whether it be for an assignment or an exam. Whether the feedback is positive or negative
about my work I would always take the advice seriously and try to improve and make changes. If I have received a negative feedback from my
teachers then I would take significant time to reflect on the errors and plan out on how I can improve next time and avoid getting a negative
feedback. Therefore, I would say that I can accept and learn from failure in a positive manner.

I believe that I have the ability to manage and prioritise time so that I can meet the deadline for an assignment or a homework. I have proven this
many times in previous years. For example, in School I would always make some time throughout my day so that I can finish off any
homeworks that my teachers have assigned me to do. Similarly, in College I always prioritise to make time for my assignment due to the fact
that I am aware of the significance of completing assignments for all of my tutors.
I also, have the ability to identify relevant sources of information, as I would practise this on a weekly basis for all of my assignments that I have
been assigned to complete from all of my tutors. I believe that I have gained this ability via doing some effective researching and being
interested on learning more about on a certain topic.
In previous years I have shown good ability on using a library to find books and journal articles in order to assist me with more information
regarding certain topics which I may have not maintained further knowledge in. However, in recent times I have not been visiting libraries for
researching due to the fact that I am more familiar on researching online as it is more easily accessible personally for me. However, I believe that
I do have the ability to research in libraries in order to find useful sources of information which can essentially give me some useful information.
I believe that I have strong ability to take notes, organize them and put them in good use and I do this regularly for my assignments. For
example, I would take notes in class via google documents in an organized manner so that when it come to do my assignment I am prepared and
have a good amount of useful notes which I can use for my assignment. This is ultimately classed as a primary research therefore, I believe that I
have the ability to do some basic primary research along with secondary research. Furthermore, for all of my researches I have recently learned
on how to do Harvard references via Neil's Toolbox. I am aware of the importance of using Harvard references in Universities this is why I am
regularly using harvard references for all of my assignments otherwise all of my references in the bibliography will not be taken into
consideration from my tutors.

problem solver. It's Extremely important to be a problem solver especially in marketing due to the fact that as a marketer you may face certain
problems on some occasions. For example, a
promotion of a product may have not been effective. So a marketer will need to identifywhat the problem is and find solutions.2. I also, have
good researching skills which is necessary in the marketing career due to the fact that you will need to go into depth research in order to find
what consumers and customers like and how to attract them. I believe that I am effective with researching whether it be through primary research

strongest transferable skill which Imaintain. This is extremely significant for a an individual who is looking to go into the marketing field as a

as attentive as I Can get distracted on some occasions. This is an important skill to maintain as a marketer as you will be communicating either
with clients or peers and you will be having meeting on a regular. I believe that my time management skills is one of my weakest transferable
skills as I can occasionally get carried away with my tasks and not take care of my time management. This can be a negative impact as it can
potentially mean that certain tasks can get delayed due to the fact that I did not keep good time management.Therefore, I will try and improve
this skill as I know that It is very important to maintain this specific skill.3. Another one of my weak transferable skill is that I have limited skills
with computer programs. I am fully aware that It can be very useful for me to understand the use of different computer programs as many
organisations use different programs that may not be familiar with many individuals
