Students Collect 1,200 Pounds of Food for Food Bank

By KAREN MITCHELL

T anner’s Crossing School’s service learning group,

LS!N, held its annual We Scare Hunger Food Drive
from October 22nd to 26th.  This year, the staff and stu-
dents from Kindergarten to Grade Eight collected a total
of 1,200 pounds of non-perishable items.  Mrs. Parrott’s
grade three classroom collected the most weight in food,
at 9.2 pounds per student, and won a pizza party for the
class, donated by Cornerstone Grill.
The entire 1,200 pounds of food was donated to the
Minnedosa and Area Food Bank.   Kerry Morrice, LS!N
leader, is grateful to all the staff and students who donat-
ed food for this great cause to benefit others.
LS!N is a service learning group which stands for
“Let’s Stop It Now”.  The aim is to help others in the school,
community, province and around the world. Currently
there are 42 students from grades seven and eight who
participate in the club.
